Gonna side w/ Dick on this one.
The second release of the Dick's Picks series gave me hope of hidden gems. The band's heads are definately into this one. Cautious and careful playing at times but ever so attentive to the finer details. That's not to say not going out on a little of a limb, listen to St. Stephen, GDTRFB>NFA transition as well as the Dark Star. Stuff I really havent heard before and I love it.

One of the most memorable events of my freshman year at OSU was seeing the Dead for the first time on Halloween nite.
A special show indeed - the first of over 75 shows that I attended throughout the Dead's tenure.
The NRPS kicked off the show with Jerry on steel pedal.
All good things come to an end, but the music lives on.

I saw The Jerry Garia Band at Ohio Theatre, sometime in the 70's. does anyone remember this show,or have any information about what the date was. I remember I had an absess tooth and was in consent pain but never left the show, the next day, I had it pulled in Columbus, before my 100 mile journey back home.

i just picked up a copy of this set great set after looking at the set and discoering that its just the second it explains i at the end of the disk i feel like i need more

Miguel, Mac, Clyde (I think) Richie, myself--maybr Pat Gibbons--left a Halloween party in Phily at 10 pm and drove strait on to Columbus--in Pat's Pinto--or something similar--not a vehicle one would expect for the future successor to Sam Cutler as Stones road manager-Crashed at the PsiU house for 3-4 hours and then went to scrounge tickets--Talked our way in on press credentials with photo equipment around 5 pm and stayed for the sound check...Ran in to Candy Palley of Worcester in front of the stage. Jerry recognized me and my twin lens reflex from Gaelic Park and MnhtnBallroom shows and I got to sit backstage with him as he strung two guitars....He asked for prints of anything good I got--Which I never delivered--as Alan knows, I never felt my stuff was good enough...Acoustics of the State Theater were among 2-3 best ever (like Irvine at Penn on my B-day Oct 16 1970)...another one of those acoustic bell domes with organ pipes built in to walls--

and Bootsie was there doing his haloween pyro show--more smoke and chemicals in air than in the band that night...
