7th show overall but a new mode of transportation - hitching. 4 of us split into 2 groups of 2. Leaving N.C. out of Asheville and after a day and night of traveling vastly different routes, we meet up at Waffle House in Jackson. Allen and Jim turned around after a night under a bridge and realizing once they got to Jacksonville they were headed north. Grey and I zigzagging from 75 to 95 w/ one of our rides courtesy of Silver Eagle - corpsman under Dick Bong's flying squadron of the WWII ace pilot of whom I did my 9th grade biography report. We agreed to bale on the W. Palm show and bussed to Lakeland where a day early we got to interact w/ O'jays fans and Jehovah Witnesses in town for a convention. Received lots of non-christian charity from them and the Baptist Deacon who chased us out of the washroom the preacher invited us to use. Half clean and surreally tired the boys bring us back to life.
