I was at this show and I think it's vastly underrated. Although the song selection isn't really special, there wasn't a bum note or missed lyric in the entire second set, and as we all know, that was pretty rare (Jerry did invert two verses in China Cat).
THERE HAS ONLY BEEN A FEW BANDS TO MAKE THE STANDS MOVE DURING A SONG IN MSG AND THE GRATEFUL DEAD AND GIMME SOME LOVIN' WAS ONE OF THEM!!! I WAS STANDING STILL AND THE MOMENTUM WAS PUSHING ME UP AND DOWN!! GREAT SHOW!! THE OTHER BANDS WERE GEORGE HARRISON AND PEARL JAM.
That was a sick show. The song selection was'nt special?
What? Cmon Josh.. I agree the show was underrated but not because of song selection.

I travelled from England to see my first show and what an amazing experience it was! Once I got to the venue it was like everyone knew a secret that I didn't. Although the first set was very good it wasn't 'magic' until the jam in The Music Never Stopped. I was stone cold sober and so I was blown away by what happened during the jam, it just seemed to keep spiraling upwards until it went to a place I didn't think possible. During the break I was on the most amazing natural high I'd ever been on. Imagine my amazement when the second set took off with the same energy and continued all the way through to the end! There was one song that I hoped they'd play and low and behold they did it! 'So glad you made it' seemed to personally welcome me in. Wow. I'll never forget it! 'I had a dream of how amazing it might be and it was so much bigger than my imagination that it blew the dream to pieces'.
