An old run-down theater in a depressed urban armpit, and the Dead stop in and work their magic. Only 15-years-old, but well aware that I was hearing some history, with the Baby Blue, and extend Other One with the Cryptical Envelopment, and the backwards Going Down the Road and Not Fade Away. Kind of like a last farewell to the intimate, ballroom-type shows, as it would pretty much be stadiums and walls of sound after this.
Only Dead show I ever went to where they opened the doors and I was one of the first wave of people in and the Band was already on stage playing Big River. Maybe in 4th or 5th row of open seating.
Knew the promoter,he got us in early, front row, heard the whole sound check. Then the doors opened and the place was packed, just completely wild but one of the very best shows ever!,
I'm listening to the show on Sirius and zepthompson is right. Either you were there or had a tape obviously. 1st Baby Blue in two years.
What a great show.
