With out a doubt the strangest Grateful Dead show I have ever been too. It was summed up perfectly by "Whats Goin' On". At first I thought it was the acid, then I realized it was actually happening.
I don't recall seeing a might as well in any of the '88 MSG setlists, but perhaps you're referring to '87.
Love this version. Definitely worth a listen. ENJOY!!
keep your character, enjoy living, share your fortune,

I had such a riot at this show. Jerry's voice was shot with laryngitis, VERY hoarse, but his playing was stellar. I was just agog with the night--way fun.
If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking... But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer. Kesey
Wow. All the special guest. Yeah the banner was a cool deal. And the gorilla with the tie-dye. How can you forget that. That was in 88 right? This run in NYC was the down fall for me in high school. But it changed my life (for the better) Well one thing I will always remember about NYC was tripping my face off on the subway. Man how fucking cool. What a great run of shows for the Dead in 88.
Interesting evening. Paid for a pricey Circle of Gold ticket. Saw an ok show but contributed to a good cause. Got to go to the afterparty and met Brent, Jerry and Bobby. Looking back on the encounter with Jerry always makes my cheeks redden with embarrassment. Did not make the most of my limited time and blabbed like the starstruck idiot I was. Shameful.
Got a cool poster and the boys autographed my program. I did have a nice moment. Talked to Brent about his singing I Will Take You Home to his daughter while she was on his lap. Such a good guy.
No, The dead hardly ever left thing behind. However they left a lot of music. I was home for this show....if I couldn't get tickets i would not go so it was live on the radio and i tapped it, Lost it also. I would love to get a copy of this show on CD. Does anyone know what it may be listed under? if it's the show or a picks.
