    Ripple
Sad to say was walking Haight Street at the time this was played ,payphone rings someone near us answers and is screaming they are playing Ripple. Only in the Grateful dead world does this happen. So ya I heard it from thousands of miles away. Reminds me of another time when we lived down in the mission and I missed the beging of the spring tour cause girlfriend was very ill.Sitting in our appartment we get a call from Mark Steve from Hampton He leaves the phone off the hook inside the Colliseum To Lay Me Down. Needless to say we were both on a plane the next day to the east coast Oh those good old days. Our flights were funded by a collection around the parking lots and were western unioned to us.

Introduced a Newbie to the road
Drove out from Cincy. Brought a friend from work. It was his first show. He said his first had to be a road trip. I can't remember a lot about the show, but for some reason I've always thought they did a kick ass job on Stranger.

The ripple encore was cool. Would like to get a tape of this show as I can't remember enough about it. I do remember that Eyes was not the greatest rendition.

I/we were front row for this one! I had a telepathic conversation with Jerry as he tuned his guitar behind one of the amps, onstage. It was, in spirit at least, my "last" show. I would see them several times more, before Jerry's passing, but it would be the last time I made my "connections" in more ways than one. The good news is that I've had equal the experience at Phil & Friends shows, on more than a few occassions. "We must become ourselves, before someone else does." Robert Hunter

so was Mornging Dew and what a treat the Ripple was. This show also stands out a bit because we were having a great time and I couldnt stop laughing at my friend Dirt imitating Bobby on the slide during Rooster. It was another great DEAD memory. Cheers! JG “The Omnipotent Grateful Dead!”

Ripple was special. I remember the first set being so over the top with energy, especially the Stranger->Tower segment. Totally blew me away. The vibe seemed to carry throught the rest of the set to the point that the band had a hard time holding it together during Birdsong. It seemed like they flew off all in different directions and almost had to stop mid-song to pull it back together. Maybe I should just go listen to the tape!

I do recall the encore, but not much else. My friends said I had a good time, which is good enough for me. What a long strange trip that night was, as well into the next day. I remember the group behind me just could not stop giggling thru the whole show.

I had at that point in my life heard Garcia play Ripple once on Broadway. I seriously never thought I'd hear the Dead do it. That was major for me a true milestone. Thank you.

My younger brother's 18th birthday! We took a dosed cake with us decorated with a yellow sky and blue sun. When we heard the first strains of Ripple, he went BERSERK with happiness. Back out in the parking lot, we walked around with permagrins, letting people grab handfuls of the cake and smashing it into their mouths. Such a great night...
