I was at the 7 11 after the show. I remember thinking this is insane . This is one of the best spanish jams out of 300 or 400 shows I attended. 1987 seemed to lose its appeal for the place for me maybe because i was strung out at this point and the loss of youth
Few new videos up on you tube one from this show here. which is great because I loved this show. My early touring years and before the big crowds and also one from the downs a week later
Now where's video of the dude coming into the show by parachute?
I wish I was techy enough to have posted the video but better to inform then not at all. This sure was a fun day wasn't it.
Beautiful day in a great setting, sitting on the side of a mountain with friends all around.
It's the thirtieth anniversary of this show next Wednesday. Just saying.
I'm so happy to have stumbled on this page! Yes, this was my first Dead show ever. I had lived in Park City a few years before in my ski bum days and came back to visit friends and for the show. I remember it was storming all the day before and the that morning. As the day wore on it gradually cleared but I remembered clouds threatening. My biggest memory was during the second set when they played Scarlet.....the clouds were covering the sun and it was cold. Then on the first notes of Fire on the Mountain the clouds parted again and there was the sun.....a fire on the mountain.......fuckin blew my mind. The L intensified the experience, naturally.....but it was the most amazing first Dead show there ever could have been and here I am 31 years later, still talking about it!
