    Fun Night
All 3 of the shows at the rocks were fun as always. I decided to give this one a closer listen to this morning. Jerry sure gets excited at the end of Ramble on Rose as does phil. Other highlights of this one are the lyrics during Shakedown love the way the band kicks it up a notch and scat together. Also this Scarlet Fire is rather hot. Space has a long other one jam before the Ashes Ashes as called it back then.

    Ahh Red Rocks.....
My first and last RR run. Was on the way back to MA from AK. Hooked up with Wendy at Park West after hopping a freight train out of eastern OR. Stayed on the train too long and had to back track to get to the PW show. RR and the Dead were a perfect match, dancing up and down the stairs with the sandstone sentinels watching over you. Would have liked to continue on to Santa Fe but UMASS fall semester was calling.

show number 6, my 1st 3 show weekend.was coming to the end and number 3 was my horizon broadening. I love scarlet> Fire.. Scarlet just makes me happy every time i hearit. even to this day, no matter what version,I'll stop ,listen and jam.1stTerrapin,another that when played well and with purpose, is a stop you in your tracks song. what do dancing turtles do when Jerry is'nt around?

My last Dead show at Red Rocks. Once again they opened with a thundering Shakedown. This time I went with my friends Cragin and Hunter, rolling down highway 93 in Hunter's (Darrell Hunter, that is) peridot green Gran Torino station wagon. Just a little lightning visible over Denver for effects on Brown Eyed Women, but thankfully no rain. The highlight for this show for me was the Scarlet/Fire, which was one of the sweetest I ever heard in concert. However, this show was also significant for me in that it was my first concert experiences of Hell in a Bucket and Throwing Stones. On the way back home, Cragin could not stop talking about a vision he'd had as the band played drums/space, that the members of the band had all appeared to him as being already dead. I attribute much of that to Candace's lighting scheme during that segment, which was very surreal, green and creamcheese colored.
