Grateful Dead 7" Singles Collection 2017 Subscription
In honor of 50th anniversary of the Grateful Dead's first single, we're excited to announce a brand new highly-collectible 7” vinyl series and a subscription to that series, to boot. 2017 will bring pressings of the first four of the band’s 27 singles on 7-inch colored vinyl, each limited to 10,000 copies and available exclusively at dead.net. The remaining 23 singles will be released over the next few years.
The first release, arriving March 1, is the band’s 1966 debut: “Stealin’” b/w “Don’t Ease Me In.” When Gene Estribou produced “Stealin’” and its B-side, “Don’t Ease Me In” in his San Francisco studio, the songs were already staples of the band’s early live shows. Fewer than 250 copies of the single ever saw the light of day. This limited-edition reissue is the single’s first pressing in 50 years and features remastered audio, edited by David Glasser to reflect the original single edits.
How do we make our brand new highly-collectible 7" vinyl series even more collectible? We enlist a few of our favorite artistes to design the packaging for each single and its B-side. This will mark the first time all of the band's commercial singles have been officially illustrated!
Our first release will feature illustrations by longtime Grateful Dead collaborator Tim Truman. Stay tuned as we'll be revealing more artists throughout the year.
We strongly encourage you to subscribe to the series, not only to ensure the very best deal, but to ensure you receive all four releases issued this year. (This one also makes a great gift under $50!)

Any news on when we can order the LP singles subscription again?
Any news on when we can order the LP singles subscription again?
It would be nice to get the digital art work (front & back) for the 7" for Volume 1 like we can get for Volume 2.
just wanted to say 2nd 45 arrived today. thanks.i hope that there will be no problem like this with the delivery of the final 2 45s in the series.
well here it is 26 days into june and no 45 recieved yet. whats goin on with this order.
Please a simple answer to the question from somebody at DeadNet/Rhino [Mary E or Dr. Rhino]. What ever happened to receiving the digital download of Vol#2-Golden Rd / Cream Puff War for subscribers? It's been 3 weeks and I have yet receive the D/L or a explanation as why this is taking so long. Thanks
[Digital delivery of each of the tracks featured on each 7”, delivered on or around release date]
please send me a PM with the order number and details and I'll ask the Doc to get on the case.
i ordered 2 copies of the singles subscription 1 to 4. one came last thursday the other is no where to be seen. i should of had it by now. whats goin on here?also this is NOT the original 45 version of the single. this is in stereo both sides when the real release is in mono. why are they rewriting history. the 45 in mono has a overdub that was not on the lp version . i have attemped to contact but was told that i must wait 6 to 8 weeks before i do. the email stated that the package was at my local post office on june 1 and it still has not arrived. thats now 8 days. this is a problem with no one to fix the problem. very upsetting considering i paid in full for 2 seperate oders back in jan of this year.
I received the 45, but when can I get the digital download?
When I look at the order I can only see the 1st "Stealin" download.
i scored #3144, when i opened box i could get a peak of the yellow colors and couldnt see much else because of bubble wrap and return slip
Got excited hoping to reveal another Bob Masse piece, but this one is from Tony Millionaire. Cant wait to see who is up next for the Dark Star cover
I received a shipping confirmation email indicating I should receive the second release on Thursday. I am all the more excited for it to arrive since we do not know what it will look like!
It is seeming more and more, this is the red headed step child of the subscriptions/releases.
GD Singles Collection Vol#2 is scheduled to ship on 05/26.
Please post an update with cover art on this 45rpm release of Golden Rd/ Cream Puff War.
I'm also looking forward to these releases. After the Dap 22 and the Get Shown the Light collection, this will just be a cherry on top. I got this series not so much for the music but because I thought it was a great idea. Also I have a fair amount of 45's in my collection, so these are a nice addition. Glad about the limited number of records being produced, will make them extra special. I can see three years down the road people will be paying chunks of coin for the first year records and they will sell out of subscriptions in a day or two. It's a nice cheap thing to collect at the 50 buck mark and little bit of the "oh boy" factor 4 times a year.
Mbarilla - Tim Truman's album cover is very nice.
Can't wait to see who is selected for number 2.
Tim Truman knocked it out of the park
send me a PM with the details and we'll try to get this fixed. Thanks and sorry for the trouble.
I received the first single Last Saturday. The Box was crushed and the disc was damaged. I 'just' got a tracking number for a replacement copy being shipped out (after requesting a replacement back on March 11th.) (Today is 3/22)
Anyone else have problems with this shipment/pressing?.
Climate controlled space, flat or on edge. On edge needs to be straight up and down, flat you have to worry about center being taller than edge. But I'd say climate controlled most important.
So more help / questions about storage. At this time I do not own a turntable so I am unable to play these. I do plan to get one. I ordered 2 sets. One to play eventually and one to keep sealed. I guess I'm just a collector of most things from this band!!
So what is the best way to store these?
hi dennis , what i meant was the the cover should of had a picture of the band on both the back and front also a paper sleeve to keep the 45 in. i got a poly lined 45 bag which i have all my 45s in and placed it in a 3 mil plastic outer bag and have put the cover in a closet where it shall stay forever. i owned a real one in passable condition but sold it when i knew this was going to issued. i do know some one who has a vg++ original for sale, asking price $2.300.
Good idea about the paper sleeves. I was thinking about storing the whole series of 45's in my old (from 1962), 45 storage box. For the youth, they used to sell little carrying cases for 45's. They would have numbered dividers and stickers to put on your 45's. You'd assign each a number and list each 45 on "the card". Then when you went to the sock hop, you bring your little carrying case, with list and 45's in order!
My case was stuffed with all the old 45 sleeves, even had a pure white one to put this release in! I have about 300 45's from my youth, looking thru the stuff and you can't believe some of the shit you bought. I also have a small chunk of full 45 sleeves, with no hole in the middle. Mostly they have full pictures of artist on them. Have Elvis' "Wooden Heart" and the B-Side..... "Do the Clam"! (a hit you never forget)
I peeled my sticker off from on cellophane as suggested and stuck on paper sleeve also. Only concern is glue going funky on paper and making paper turn yellow, or worst seep thru paper to record inside.
Maybe future releases need to come with inside paper sleeve and as Zally suggested, the paper sleeve could have pictures on each side with the info printed on it instead of a label on the cellophane. That be nice.
In any event, thank you cosmic norm for you idea.
I received yesterday. My number somewhere in the mid 6,000's. Took about 4 minutes to get through, that was fast! Sounded good to me, though not sure how often I will spin this. My record label has a few bubbles or pimples on each side. I guess that is just how it is. I'm still kind of wondering how they are going to move 10,000 of these. They are not offering it a la carte yet.
hi all ,got mine yesterday number is 5585. sound is awesum. as for the cover it stinks.there many unpublished photos from 66 as herb greene has many. why didn't they use them?
Love the cover art !!
How about a t-shirt of this baby ? front and back graphics
Certainly a collectors item ! This one is top notch. Who is next up for cover artist ?
Might even snag an extra Subscription !! Pretty mama don't you tell on me
Got mine today 07538 I like the cover I also have the sloppy dot on both labels. Would have liked to see the disc come with a generic sleeve as well. I put the 45 in a new sleeve that fits nicely in the cover. I also found it a good way to save the sticker - I peeled it off the plastic and put it on the generic sleeve for keeping. Was a little surprised the download code wasn't just put in the packaging too. Guess there will be an update on that later? Otherwise I dig the art work and love the use of the original label. Can't wait for the next one. Perhaps they take these suggestions into consideration down the road.
Mine came today, number 7400, ordered in first hours of announcement.
I have the dimples, both sides, but they don't line up, so not there for manufacturing reasons. I think just sloppy production facility. The vinyl feels heavy, not sure how the white plastic will be on the sonic front. Sometimes picture disc or "color" vinyl can sound like shit (muddy in my experience). Anyone actually listen to vinyl copy? How's the sound quality?
I like the sleeve, nice art front and rear. Like how the "number of number" was incorporated into art work. Didn't like how the sticker was attached to plastic sleeve. You want the sticker because it seems to be telling you the number of the 45 in the release. I like the idea of the information on the sticker, don't like the implementation. Not sure how else to do it. Bar Code should have been some where else on the package and not part of the id sticker.
I still like the idea of this series and will continue with them. It be nice to frame and display, but I don't have room. I will probably store in gallon ziplock baggie and lay flat in climate controlled closet. How will you store yours?
Got #6121 in the mail today.
Microdot in the label and all (i dont care about that, its all good) Now i just have to get through work so i can spin that bad boy!
Macgruber: i was wondering the same thing, so far they havent shown any sign of an a la carte option.
I got # 2852. I ordered within hours of the announcement.
I wonder if they will even offer these a la carte at this point for the first disc
6550 here and I ordered the first day they were announced.
It would be nice if dead.net would ensure people who buy subscriptions to Dave's Picks or the Singles, get lower edition #'s than someone who buys one later a la carte. Seems like they ship starting with the highest number first. I got 7835 or something close to that and ordered the first day. It would be nice if they even tried to issue them in order of orders received, but they're not even close.
Must be a manufacturing "feature". Tsk Tsk
you have one too? Both Sides?
I'm tempted to peel off the label on mine and see if "the pimple" is psychoactive.
Should my record look like the label on both sides was applied on top of a miniscule grain of sand? Because there is a small but marked "pimple" on each side of the record.
or is it in the manufacturing? Seems like there is something under the label on BOTH SIDES
AnY one ELSE?
it was handed off to UPS Mail Innovations, should only take about a month to come a 1,000 miles!!!
Got mine at 3:57pm on Fri, 3/3. Should be in my hands by Thurs, 3/10.
My shipping notice came in at 12:57 am, EST.
I agree... no shipment confirmation. However, from how I read the email, they indicated they would start notifications on 3/3. I guess it means they are sending confirmations as they receive the inventory. Might be a few days. hang in there
...and no shipping notice.
Good stuff, just a 2 day delay. I'll take it
Now I just need to go buy a turntable already....
Thank you for purchasing the Grateful Dead 7" Singles Collection 2017 Subscription.
Due to a delay in the arrival of the “Stealin'” / “Don't Ease Me In” (Vinyl Single) stock at our warehouse, the first volume of the subscription will start shipping out on Friday, March 3rd.
We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience.
Dead.net Customer Service
First off... I am ALL in favor of a hook up with whatever may be laying around the warehouse floor! That always sweetens the deal.
In regards to ship dates, I looked back on my original pre-order confirmation email and the release dates were aligned with those on the web page (3/1, 6/1, 9/1, 12/1).
However, when I looked up the order status online, I am now seeing the following release dates: 3/3, 5/26, 9/1, 12/1
So... if this goes according to plan, we are delayed on the first 45, but could receive our second earlier.
In any event, I am still excited to get my hands on the first release.
would be nice to know from the Rhinos.
anyway, since I am here commenting.
whats the chance of a hook up ~ some old dead relics that are laying to waste at headquarters. maybe another concert ticket and backstage pass from late 80's early 90's for good gesture
cant be that many subscribers
I emailed customer support and they confirmed that the ship date will be on Friday, March 3rd. Happy Spinning!
Does not seem like it, at least with the TTATS box they let us know they were going to miss the ship date.
ETA: since it has not even went to a la carte yet, i wonder when this will actually ship.
Has anyone received a shipping verification email for the first 45 due for delivery on Wednesday? Just curious... and excited to get the first min-spin!
