Road Trips Decades
Sugar Magnolia on Road Trips 3 vol 2 in ACC won't load to my iTunes. I thought it was due to my ineptitude!!! Also, I ordered some hard copy CDs of Road Trips and it says "back ordered" after I checked out. Are they printing more or are these really sold out?
I've given my account info to Marye but not heard anything yet regarding the problem. Interesting that the track you had problems with was different than the three tracks I had problems with. Yours was flac, but mine was alac. When I reported the issue originally to customer service, I included a screen shot of one of the problem tracks. In Audacity you could see actual gaps in the music interspersed throughout the corrupted tracks, which is why the tracks either wouldn't play in some players or would skip constantly. Seems to me that until they figure out what is up with these problems, they shouldn't be selling this particular download. I know this doesn't exist on the physical media because I've heard those discs. I've not had problems like this with prior downloads back when they had the download series or in the days when you could download flac copies of the studio albums.
Thanks to Marye Dr. Rhino contacted me on March 10 and asked to know which track was defective and I've heard nothing since. Kinda given up hope this will be resolved.
please send me a PM with your order details and I'll see if we can fix this. Thanks and sorry for the hassle.
Consider me foolish for not having checked this thread prior to purchasing the download for Road Trips v. 2, no. 1, MSG September’90 on March 14th. Like Limb, my download is corrupted. In my case, I purchased the ALAC version and it turns out that tracks 7 (Uncle John’s Band), 14 (Throwing Stones), and 15 (Touch of Grey) are unplayable in iTunes. They can be played in some other types of players (Audacity), but they have abundant audible glitches and skips. Analysis of the tracks in Audacity reveals numerous gaps in the tracks ranging from milliseconds to seconds in duration, which accounts for the playback problems. I initially downloaded the show as a single complete file, but after the initial problem I downloaded the show again with the disks split into two zipped files: same result. I know this isn’t the problem with playback from the physical media, but appears to be a problem that only exists with the digital downloads.
I contacted customer support about the problem and included a screen shot showing the corrupted waveform from one of the problematic tracks. Although I quickly received a question reference number, I have heard nothing more for over a week. When Limb reported a problem on with the download on March 7th, the problem with the digital download should have been addressed and/or the download pulled until the problems were fixed. Customer service and response to reported problems remains an ongoing and critical problem with the Grateful Dead/Store.
I look forward to the prompt resolution of this issue, but I can’t say I have much confidence in Customer service at this point. I will likely challenge my credit card charge unless this problem can be quickly resolved. I also think that it should not require the intervention of Marye and/or Dr. Rhino to address the many problems that are reported with music sold by Dead.Net.
if you're still having this issue, send me a PM with the details and I'll see what we can do. Sorry for the hassle.
Purchased this show along with 3 others a couple of days ago. Disc 1 track 9 plays with major glitches. The file integrity verifier of foobar reports a corrupted flac stream. Have informed customer services two days ago but have yet to receive a reply apart from the initial automated reply.
Love the music.
Thank you very much for offering the RT series in flac format.
By now I believe you've heard from the Dr. on this, yes? If anyone else is also having this issue, please send me a PM. Thanks!
