Road Trips Decades
I'm pretty sure the problems I was having was my circa late 90's CD player. The CDs ripped on my computer just fine and having no problems when listening on my iPod. Went to best buy to upgrade and they had like two crappy CD players for sale. Anyone know where I can get a good one. It seems like everything out now is totally digital. All the stereo systems are like one speaker and you link your $600 dollar phone with iTunes up to it.
if this doesn't get fixed soon.
Thanks for the suggestion jbpavi - There is a problem with the cd not the player. Other cds have worked out fine. I will hold out until I have a fully functioning disc - just speculating, but I wonder if the new batch for multiple trips were not transferred correctly from the source.
If there are now limited editions with some of the releases and there is the perception of a "special" item that cannot be replicated past a certain point; in 2014 can we begin to learn more about the quality of the discs used and the physical production process itself? I think that would be fair since we are nudged to buy a "limited" product - shouldn't we be able to have some insight on why its so limited or special?
I know there are some that would say, please no complaining, negativity, etc.. but I am not trying to be negative, I really just want to purchase a product that has high quality and is quality controlled especially if it is "limited". I have purchased discs for half my life from multiple manufactures and I have never had that what if its damaged thought that I have when I purchase from here.
Hi All -- I have experienced skipping/stuttering on some of the CD's I play on my office computer. When I play the same CD's on my home computer, no issues. The problems you are experiencing MAY just be related to your CD-Drive or system in general. Give them a test drive on another system and see if you get different results.
Just received vol 2 no.1 1990 Msg. Having the same problems as mpace. I'll call after christmas. I'm not complaining though. Everything dead.net is doing to keep the spirit of this music alive is really awesome. We are finally getting all this great music released and the quality is great. Thank you to everyone at Dead.net for everything you do. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Thanks Marye - will do. So far so good I have an issue number and understand that the holidays can slow things down so I was giving some time until I checked back. I do have to say that the customer service reps I spoke with were very nice.
It happens now and then with CDs from all over, in my experience, but if you have trouble getting this resolved send me a PM. (Things are a little slow because of the holidays at this point, but keep me posted.)
I was excited to see the vol 2 No 3 '74 Road Trip available again and ordered. After receiving it in the mail I was bummed to find out that the first disc had a flaw that turned up when importing the disc to iTunes. Not a scratch but the PITB would not load correctly and when listening it had skipping sounds. Contacted customer service and they have begun processing and I should find out in 48 to 72hrs how this will be fixed.
Any one else have this type of issue?
I think you may be right, philliedawg. At first, I thought they may have pressed some more CD's. But now I see that Denver 73 and April Fool's 88 are gone again. Looks like they may have found some surplus inventory and put it up for sale. Who knows how long they'll last. I hope everyone who wants copies gets them before the eBay scalpers come in and grab the remaining stock.
I 'get' finding(2nd time this has happened with RT series) a few copies or was this a strategy? And......big question of the day, out there. Regardless of the Road Trips audio, sans bonus discs, that will be released next year, does anyone know what the physical run was for each RT issue? I get that some sold out. But, lots(?) -Is 4.4 back with a fury?- are available and, if you look in the right place, you can still score a few RT's, sealed with bonus for @$35. I get Dave's Picks, limited 'physical' releases in general. Can anyone, Marye, fill in the holes for me? Gratefully -mick
