I was 16, only knew The Dead
I was 16, only knew The Dead from Casey Jones on classic rock stations and the recent "Touch Of Gray". Damn, that was so many roads ago. I'm damn near 40 now, and still looking for a show to go to. Oh well, best times ever!

Morning you can only dream of!!!!!
Foggy one minute, then the break to see the most spectacular hot air balloons with all those colors. I will never forget.

Drove my pristine gold 1968 Lincoln (about 7 miles to a gallon) with three friends over from Central Valley (eventually the Monterey Pennisula would become my permanent home). We took some... I danced on my best friend's vintage sunglasses he had custom fit (from my grandmother circa 1950's) by accident of course. The "tree people" we're really a trip up in the oaks or maybe it was just the roses...I remember Ry Cooder Bruce Hornsby, the cool people all around us and of course the main event. Two awesome sets as I remember. Also the show before the show. All the vendors, people milling about. It was all so new to this young boy (back then). After that show, I knew why they said, there is "nothing like a Grateful Dead Concert"! I was awestruck, plus Jerry waved out of the blacked out window car (I think mine was bigger) as they headed down the hill as us stragglers headed back to our cars from those golden hills between Moneterey and Salinas as the sun set and fog closed in on the distant Peninsula.
