ultra grateful for another freebie, we're just walking now & feelin NO blues all over...
...& soon come we'll be a-runnin' all over our Deadbase's!!
sure wish they included the tune after Miracle, love that tune & JGs vocals are super sweet on that version...
btw, it's ze former AmazingAce here fellas!!
ps... happy belated D-Rae!
1. May be some confusion regarding the name of the arena
B. That hint is not really a hint, more of a joke, not sure if it has anything to do with this particular version
iii. Seven songs in three days
IV. In my opinion, the one not about mayonnaise is the best song Hunter/Garcia ever wrote.
well, this place might have 2 names, but i had to go with Deadbase and dead.net over archive.org. we'll see in 24 hours who's correct !
i guess they had to throw a little action in for such an otherwise obviously easy one.
loving these tunes, and discovering shows that are new to me !
thanks to all. #ForeverGrateful
behind the hint ?
is that true ?
Whip It instead...
as far as the 2 names of the venue maybe it change from one to the other in a certain year maybe this year it was called (blank) where in the past or maybe the future from this show it was named (blank) just my guess ,but I choose the name given on setlist.fm
was ONLY played 272 times between August 1978 and June 1995 you can easily eliminate some years,I'll let you figure out which ones!
Isn't bad especially being my 1st year playing and I don't have a deadbase in my hand (until monday) I did get the year correct on the 1st song but was 4 months off
that stuff makes the best sandwich.
today i figured i best match em up before making the pick
finally on the boards!
yet another smokin piece of music
on that i'm 3 for 3
A ton of fun who packs a gun with all her freight"…. is a good way to sell mayonnaise? Haha.
I went with the other name of the venue....
I went with whats on the ticket from GDTS. I'm sure it will be the wrong.
Good November to ya, one and all,
Good to be back in the 30 DoD Parking Lot: "Pretty Bracelets, Just A Dollar"
Re: First Ballot Hall of Fame Hints
My vote goes to last year's "Asian Girl Band" (Kill Bill) referencing May, 6th, 1978 show (a.k.a. 5-6-7-8's)
have to say was pleased to find Heady Version rated TASB, sure helped find yesterday's entry
....more people than usual are on board this year....nice to see the posts from people figuring out their search methods...2 for 3 so far which for me is awesome. Dont see many posting about relisten.net but i find it to be easier to use for syncing up than others. anyone else using it...they have many other bands as well....give a shout
I'm using Relisten. I've found it easier than the Archive for searching through shows.
Finally got one yesterday and had fun listening to the Niagara show.....now this one is like a Steph Curry layup....Swish!
Ordered my DeadBase 50 yesterday and according to Amazon will arrive today....Looking forward to that!!
Haight Ashbury.....I'm also a 76'er and KCK native. It's a beautiful Fall here in Kansas City....colors abound!!!
Play Dead People!
Nice keyboard effect: Dan was such a fun guy to sit with during the show! Where is he working at these days?
I found it on Archive and just entered that venue in. Then someone here mentioned they went with Deadlists - 2 different names. Damn! Now I want to change my guess. :-) (I remember this same thing happened last year or the year before as well.)
Don't forget, if you need the 30 Days collections from any of the previous years (2010 - 2017), you can download them here:
I went with the name in Deadbase. Fingers crossed. I hate when we have to do that. :(
We go through this at least once or twice every year: there are several different choices for the name of the venue. I always try to find out what the official name of the venue is by going to their website or finding old clippings or stories about the show. I remember especially the Alligator from 30 Days in 2013. All evidence pointed to it being from the Shrine Exhibition Hall (including the original poster). However the official answer was listed as the Shrine Auditorium. Same place. Different name. The same thing happened with the Suagree from the same year. It was listed as being at Public Hall, yet the official answer was Cleveland Public Hall. The official name for the venue for the UJB>Miracle is the one listed in Deadbase and Relisten and on the venue's website, but the one on the Dead's site or one some of the entries on archive. Those are the informal name, and are still technically correct. But in the end, it really doesn't matter. I know in my mind that I am correct, and I count my answer as being right. And the music never stopped!
Note that this show can be found in the dead.net/show listings, and that gives what's possibly an authoritative name for the venue. It would be interesting if this is not the "right" name in the answer we see tomorrow. It's reasonable to expect dead.net to be consistent with themselves, right?
That's what I was going to say!
I see what people are saying with the venue name. I went with what is in dead base 8. Just have to see what the final answer is.
Like a three pointer from deep, Day three hits that mark again! Love that all three days have been combos. I think it is listed under different names as it has gone through some name changes. Probably will except any of the correct names. But who knows.
After searching Uncle John's in DB XI, I looked up Unknown 12-07-68. That's Rosemary. Then I looked for Rosemary and don't see any at all in Every Time Played.
Upon further review, I see the good folks at DB X1 note this Rosemary in the Deadbase Updates section. Proceed with your day.
All 3 days have been stellar!
Their motto is "Don't Spread On Me."
I like a Miracle as much as the next guy, but they cannot be in two places at once. Funny that even images of laminates, tickets, and multiple apparently definitive websites differ on the venue name, though at the time one supposes it hardly mattered.
Didn't take too long. In Archive dot org I clicked the multiple year boxes on the years' range I guessed based on the vocal quality & the keyboard sounds. Then I searched the main words from the song titles. All shows with those 2 songs within those particular years came up.
Sometimes I use setlist dot fm to search songs & confirm w/archive - with a one song daily offering it's easy, with a multi song offering I open up multiple tabs in setlist site & compare contrast. How are you people actually searching songs on that relisten site? I could not find a way to search songs, just show by show which would take forever.
I like the intro to the next song (a Jerry later era great imo). Bobby playing a nice intro single note melody that I wish they would have kept or made more prominent.
Comments string weirdness:
I think if you click on the song(s) title(s) of a particular day's offering you get JUST that day's comments.
If you are just on the main url page of 30 Days of Dead with no specific date I think that is what makes the comments of all the days form a long string.
Wow! This show is smokin' hot!!! Been listening from the beginning and just getting up to UJB>INAM
Finished the end of the Niagara show early this morning...and I think the Pittsburgh 73 show will get a visit this afternoon....
30 Shows in 30 Days? Who's with me??
Edit: The quality available on all of these shows seem release worthy
of UJB right there. Even Jerry's little lyrical flub up was great. But the best part of today's version was the HINT. Had me laughing to start my day. And that's the best medicine, no Miracle needed!
That would be, NIAGARA Convention Center...
Nice softball pitch here for our Saturday morning (that is in no way a hint, it's just a fairly easy one) except for getting the right name for the building. Easy to get the date right and then put down the wrong place.
I ordered 50 since my DBVI only went through 91. Tons of info in 50!!! I have to say the one con is the print is too small even with readers for my older eyes!! have a good weekend everyone bob t
Well, I think the venue question is pretty clear if we go with the show listing on Dead.net Archive, but that raises a more concerning question for me - if you click on the date shown to get the setlist for the show in question, it pulls up a setlist for the show with the date ONE DAY LATER. Huh?
I'm just gonna go with the date listed on deadlist and the venue name on dead.net and let it fly (amazing how a pretty easy search can raise such a conundrum!)
Happy trails whichever you choose - and sooo thankful for all the great music!
You'd think ticket stub would have to be the correct answer....
Mine just arrived...smile, smile,smile!
can you picture a mayo ad lol
most heads like the following year over this year and the year after that even more, hopefully not to much of a clue, don't want it to be to easy ,since it was already a fairly easy one :)
Try to guess the year and song for tomorrow
Samson & Delilah 11/4/77 Colgate!
You can literally count on one hand the number of times this sequence occurred.
a quick Google search will tell you 1 is a indoor arena & home to a basketball team ,the other is a outdoor venue used for Baseball and Football hope that helps with the confusion
The correct answer is whatever dead.net say it is for this competition, but the correct name for bragging rights is one of several options listed so you can still be right but won't be on the shortlist for the prize. I'm happy if i get it right, enough for me.
