Make quick work of Tenn this morning. Relieved I got yesterday's right that venue can be tricky.

Someone in Ohio has this personalized license plate.
Narrowed down the era right off, but thought I still had a big search ahead. Then I heard it... Tap-in birdie from there.

Onviously Godchaux era, but if you can narrow down the guitar era... once you find it, easy search from there

The ticket stub for Oakland 12/30/89 says OAKLAND COLISEUM ARENA. If the answer is not what it says on the ticket than I don’t know what…

The HINT- always listen for vocal mistakes or miscues. In yesterday's version Jerry sang about Jack the TAILOR, not Sailor. Especially on days without many clues this is one of, if not the best, clue to help nail it down

As someone pointed out, the Oakland venue name has come up in the past. In a related note, so has The Cleveland Public Auditorium, which also includes Public Hall and Music Hall. Other times, it was referred to as The Exhibition Hall. Additionally, locals have referred to the entire "complex" as The Convention Center. Recently, it also housed what was called The Medical Mart. Names change.

I suspect "Oakland Coliseum Arena" was also accepted as the answer. Why? Because I cut and paste the info for every track from the website into a document to keep as a record with the tracks when I play. They have used both names for that 12-27 - 12-31 run, which has appeared multiple times in 30 Days of Dead over the years.

Feeling similarly confident to yesterday (off by half a year). Got a fairly confident guess of the band lineup and era for Day 3. Checked out a few versions to match the tempo and opening lick. Excited to see how close I got tomorrow.

Wanna blow your mind? Look up the Oakland show on this site. It's listed differently than what the answer is.

That close! Wish I'd have gotten that whiff of Masterpiece at the end. I always jump the gun. Oh well.
Today's seemed impossible but luckily I got it after less than a dozen tries in the exact era. Whew!
Cheers

We always seem to have a couple of multiple possibilities for a given date. The Oakland Coliseum is one of them. The official name of the venue is the Oakland Alameda Country Coliseum, but the "official" answer has been different over the years. Sometimes I get it right, sometimes not. It's not the same as calling the Felt Forum Madison Square Garden. The Felt Forum was a smaller auditorium within MSG, but not MSG. Sometimes the answer is not the same as listed on the tickets or the poster or on the Dead website. But I always count my answer as being correct because in the end the Oakland Coliseum Arena and the Oakland Alameda Country Coliseum Arena are the same space.

Same location with two different venues:

Oakland Coliseum Arena: indoor
Oakland Coliseum: outdoor stadium (A’s, Raiders)

I can differentiate between the stadium and arena, (stadium clearly said stadium) but there was the choice of Oakland Alameda County Coliseum and Oakland Coliseum Arena, both of which refer to the arena. Fortunately, chose the right one on this one.

Got lucky and found today’s pick rather quickly. Tempo of the song helped me narrow down the era.

Got the year and month nailed down right away based on the tempo, feel and lead guitar sound. Just a few choices in and bingo! Those few bass notes just after the applause stops in the final seconds of today's file clue it in.

As known from years and years: There is no "venue confusion" when they state multiple similar names in the choices. Just choose one of the similar ones and get the date and city correct. That's all you need to do. Don't worry about "right" or "wrong" venue in those particular instances where they list similar names. We have seen the Oakland venue listed one way in the answer the next day and then in a different year, we have seen it listed a different way in the answers for the same date or run of shows. Just pick 1 and get the date / city correct that's all!

with today's news about Donna Jean Godcheaux McKay's passing it feels like my eye got blacked, my spine cracked and my dog got kicked. Wasn't expecting this kind of news today but I guess we kind of have to expect it.

Let's have a From The Heart Of Me or Sunrise or France or at least a Let Me Sing Your Blues Away for tomorrow's selection in memory of Donna's lifetime deadicated to the love and performance of music.......PLEASE??

I've narrowed down the time frame, i think, but it's getting to take too much time. I'll be interested to see whether the answer is one i missed hearing, or one I dismissed after hearing.

Hey there Benz, give it another try. Somehow I passed by this one on my first go through and went further afield. A nice lunch, brisk walk, and second go around - bingo! - got it the second click. Nice, concise uptempo version with some smokin' guitar - but, yeah, kinda hard to really enjoy given the news. Life goes on - so we keep keepin' on.

Some of you may need to drink all day and rock all night to find this one. I got pretty lucky in my search early on.
Well, you know it's like I said, there’s nothing like The 30 Days of Dead.
Donna, I hope you are now saying “there ain’t no place I’d rather be.”

I ran up and down and passed it over, even though I was sure I was close. Then when the tempo slowed, I had to take a step back. Recalling my recent words, I found it funny that this was the place.

whew that one not only buttered my bread but toasted, burnt, scraped off the charred stuff then covered it in peanut butter. my own fault for giving up the path i was on to go wander around in the woods for way too long to catch that quick little bunny. oh well, aint no place I'd rather be. matches up perfect when you find it.

The tempo of this version is too fast for me. I prefer slower versions. I can't recall a specific performance right now.
