Days Of Dead

Loose Lucy, Black-Throated Wind
Hint:
A couple of songs that would both disappear for 16 years.

Chicago, IL, International Amphitheatre
"Loose Lucy" debuted in 1973 in a slower arrangement, and returned in 1974 with the peppier Mars Hotel arrangement. "Black-Throated Wind" was a much-loved Weir-Barlow song from Bob's Ace album in 1972. Both songs left the repertoire in October 1974, seemingly for good, but both returned in March 1990, two days apart at the Capital Center in Landover.

had to throw in the towel on that scarlet fire. Just dont have the time like before. first non guess since year one when i had no idea what i was doing. Still got a few hours of mighty fine listening in. i was close but ran out of time. this one should prove easier. i say before listening. anyway loving these combo picks so far.
still a few names i haven't seen yet so far, D-Rae included, but plenty of old familiar faces.
hope everybody is well and diggin on another 30 days.

had to edit due to my prediction on this one being easier, just because making assumptions on what you see as your choices and what really exists can come back to bite you. but in this case once all is said and done, given the odds here the math says im a genius. even matched it up over the wail of the washing machine. all this extra time i can enjoy the rest of this pretty sweet show.
ok. carry on

Just almost exactly perfect sync ( for some minutes ha) . I was heading towards a certain date based on certain info but that was misleading! It's amazing how a completely different night will sync up well with the dead dot net site's offering here.

Gotta listen to that ending minutes and tail end of Lucy. That's where the clues were for me. Have fun!

I use this site for my searches and find it extremely helpful. Are there any other recommendations on setlist search engines?

... can be very helpful! That is a great resource.

So many great sites. Caution not to use just one tho. Just the other day the Bertha offerng's show did not show up on a setlist dot fm search for Bertha.

I like the archive dot org . 99% helpful for me. I enter just certain words from the song title(s) and then further filter by year or years with the tick boxes then I click the "Date Published" to rearrange the search results chronologically .

And I might even open up another tab and take a look at relisten dot net for the year in question because their site layout is easy to navigate.

Multiple tabs, multiple tools... that's what works for me.
Now those band rehearsal or studio takes answers... I never get those...

Pretty sure I've got this one. If so, I saw the Who at this venue 5 years later

This one is a little too easy. But thanks for throwing all of us a bone. Nice to know I've got one right.

Oh yeah, thanks again for doing this, one of my favorite holiday traditions.

Is okay searching multiple songs at a time is nice only those shows that the songs were played at will come up, just be careful of older shows that don't have complete set-lists.

The 30 Days of Dead makes the month of November pass like Dew
I never had doubts or thoughts of regret when I submitted my entry today
Time for me to go where the weather suits my clothes
Goin' back home that's what I'm gonna do
Singing Thank-you, for the 30 Days of Dead...

A lot of you are probably aware of this, but jerrybase.com is a great resource for researching a lot of this stuff. It’s an amazing site, well worth checking out if you haven’t already.

I heard GD play these two songs in person, at the same show, was my last GD show at Highgate, ‘95. The order was reversed, BTW followed by LL. D-Rae and Hornsby have November birthdays if I recall correctly, so happy happy to y’all and others able to enjoy another milestone trip around the sun during 30DoD.

Everyone seems to be hitting the bullseye on this one,
so I feel safe in saying,
I dropped a crumb for this early on,
but only see one other sleuth out there pick up on it…
and he’s no Fool.
Like him…and maybe you….
I’ve got déjà vu (hic),
déjà vu.

Man, yesterday's show date was my brother's birthday (minus three years). Today's date is my birthday. Go figure. I'm getting skilled at CTRL+Fing my way through setlists...

I really like the snappy, up-tempo beat of this era Looose Looosy. Also..........
May you never shake the wrong tree
May your black throat be only from too much licorice
and may the four winds always blow you toward the correct answer.

Searching for some Begonias just to see a Mountain of Fire had me all day and night. Yes I did end up in the right spot but being confused I hesitated to submit myself to what is my own ear problem. I woke today to find out that Loose Lucy was wearing Scarlet Begonias on this Thursday.

An amendment to my original post: I just realized I was listening to the AUD recording and not the SBD. The AUD is superb: "clear, full, bright and open." And I should add that Reckoning and Dead Set have a sound unto themselves. How did they do that?

Original post: This is a sweet Fire on the Mountain. Great groove, tight band -- in the pocket. And the sound! Clear, full, bright and open, like all of the Reckoning and Dead Set shows I've listened to. Those shows have a sound unto themselves. How did they do that?

...according to my crack research crew, these two songs were only played at the same show eighteen times. Twelve times between 73-74, and six times between 92-95, and only in the LL, BTW order three times. So, a little easier to track down than a Scarlet > Fire (242 times).

Before even listening, could only find 3 viable options. Found on 1st try, though nothing to be proud of! Glad to be back in the saddle.
