Dan won? dan? dammit
thought i had it
the devil made me do it, nice choice
rather than repost i'll just edit- of course find this one first pick
ok could leave a rather silly clue but it might make it too easy, so how bout this. if you find it, the song that is, you will get where i might have been going concerning my pick. follow?
but so sweet!
The timing alone tells us it's not the comeback-era rearrangement before we even listen to it. Footloose and fancy free? That's how I would describe early versions (such as this), not the slowed-down '76 and beyond versions.
I find it interesting that after playing FOTD several dozen times in its debut year, they didn't play it at all the following year.
Another very happy birthday to LeeBob!
I love listening up to these things here. I'm Grateful to be a DEADHEAD
Rock on 💥😈👍😎😎😍😍
I lit out from Reno, I was trailed by twenty hounds.
That's my guess don't know if it's right, but hey thanks for the tunz.
So, first, let me just say that I love 30 Days, as I am sure everyone here does. I don't usually play along, but I listen and DL the songs every year. For that, I want to say thank you, Dead.net team!
Now, one thing that has always confused me about the whole thing though is why the hints are usually about the song, not about the era/date/venue that we are supposed to guess. I mean, every "hint" so far this year has been about the song specifically, but even if we were supposed to be guessing the song (which would be incredibly easy,) the title of the song is listed directly below the hint. The way it is, these are not really hints at all... Just wondering what the thinking is there.
1st guess wasn't really...
reminded me of Henry Kaiser's 'Those Who Know History Are Doomed To Repeat It'.
Today was a tribute to Yogi, again. I just Ignore the hints.
I hope I ain't giving too much away here, but this was a download from a previous year's 30 Days.
I guess even for the GD, there's only so much music they put out there.
Back-to-back repeats? Is this the last year of 30DoD or something?
Really sweet version of this classic song, but yeah it's not a new release. We've been getting repeats for years, but this is the first time a song has appeared for the THIRD time. We received this FOTD in 2011 (albeit followed by Candyman), then again in 2017.
Congratulations on the win! Clif from Sacramento says hi. I'm the Jerry from the Dead band Possum (We Play Dead), glad to have another Sacramentan here!
but finally nailed, it... now we gotta go (hint)
of a time flushing this one out but enjoyed the hunt thoroughly. Thank you Robert Hunter! I never get tired of this timeless tune. My dog even loves it!
Well, third time's a charm I guess.
For those seeking something truly unique, check out the recording of a show at the same venue a few months before this one - there's a real surprise tucked into the electric set.
Found this pretty quickly, but barreled on. Such a fun time. Thanks!
No sweet treat for dessert this time :(
I think Dave is trying to tell us something with this selection.
I set out running and I took my time, but I’m sure not I got this one tonight. Very nice clean version. Good luck!
Those drums are so clear and sweet. It took some time but in the end I got it and now my reward is to listen to the rest of the show. Maybe one day I'll get a prize but digging up loads of them with each search. Thanks for that!!!
I really like the Older version's Best...The Slower version's just seem to Bore Me...But being a Dead Head since the Late 60's, I guess that's to be Expected...Thanks for the Tune.....TOMAS !
