always look forward to the hunt, but alas none today...
really rare opener., though...
anyways, anybody gotta favourite spot for Italian Beef Sangaweechez?
The Original Mr. Beef for me... ♤ ♤ ♤
Went to see the captain, strangest I could find...
This song always made me look around whatever venue it was and listen for the big cheer the first time the title was sung. Big hint giveaway this time.
Really nice version. Bobby and Donna uncharacteristically nail the background harmonies on the last chorus!
I believe Dave gave us a selection from this same show last year. Would not be at all surprised for this to turn up as the next Dave's Picks selection from this year.
The hint was a little too good this time. Found it immediately. I was hoping for a long Saturday search. Now I have to go cut the grass :)
Listen carefully. I almost picked the wrong one.
Scary of how close these are to each other
And each is worthy - I just can't get enough of Phil's amazingly full bass weaving filigrees throughout. With the short but sweet Jerry solo, then the interplay of bass then keys a bit after the three minute mark, this one is another gem. Dave chose the right one. Much thanks!
more better! Put this song anywhere in the set and I'll groove to it, but this is one of the cleanest and more perfect mixes I've ever heard. The rest of the show is definitely worth hearing too. And reading some of the many comments about this night is entertaining as well. Thanks again 30DOD!
wow i got 3 in a row...thats a record for me.
the hint helped but there was another hint when i researched that put it over the top.
good thing i caught it
well as usual 4 days till i turn 59 so
congrats president elect biden
encore to the comment lets get a smokin loser in here
Ship is one of the best Studio Session Recordings the boys where ever able to create, IMO. That they teamed it with Women R later was unfortunate, both songs where better as Stand Alone's live.
A lost sailor on a ship of fools, or the ship of the sun driven by the Grateful Dead, would be wise to give prudence to a slipknot while sailing through a dark star. -Ancient Hippiean saying ~}; )
Very generous clue for today's quiz. Don't want to jinx myself, but I am 7 for 7 this November. One More Saturday Night, and it is a 70 degree day in November in the land of cheese. I guess it's time for a few of my beer bottles to stand as empty.... As always, IMGR8FL!
Once again the DeadBase book saved me a little time... What a beautiful version this was to listen to. Tipped me off to a good all around show.
I love it that Jack-A-Roe and Little Sadie made there way in here. Clearly there is no copyright infringement. Keep it up!!!
Damn near missed it by nearly pulling the trigger too soon but then I got the anomaly and realized the one I was keying on was a bit too smooth. Time to rest --- this little game of searching is such a great pleasure unlocking loads of hidden treasures and tonight it is especially satisfying to cap off the day.
I think I picked the wrong one!
This show was on my birthday! Granted, this was 20 years before I was born, but still, pretty dang cool. Wish I could have had a set like this as a birthday present!
