"Feel Like A Stranger" debuted live 3/31/80, after it had been recorded in the studio for Go To Heaven (released 4/28/80). Most Grateful Dead songs were played live for many months, sometimes many years, before they were recorded in the studio.

heard enough of these in person to narrow this down pretty quick. after 10 years still finding juicy nugs to add to these here collections. can't wait to hear tomorrow

Agree - the electronics add to the effect, with Bobby doing some damn aggressive stabs toward the end but, for me, it didn't lead to anything special and ended too soon, though they transitioned into a nice tight ending.
Took me a while to find this one - started off on the wrong year, then went to the wrong extreme and finally found my way back (Brent's piano tinkling at key moments helped nail it for me). Quite a ride!

happy after listening to this song. Pretty Heady too, as I guessed the year FIRST TRY! But it took me 9 or 10 selections to finally unearth this shiny nugget. I enjoyed the search thoroughly however. How about YOU??

A good deal of choices in this show to shake your foundation.

Tried in the a.m. and had to leave for work. When I got home I set my sights for a different year . First try as soon as I got home. A great tour, great year.

Eventually got there on one of those special cues ... November Dead.net bringing some joy to the month every year. Thank you so much! I've come a long way since working overseas. I remember trying to find the song just using only archive .org and my ears. That was a task but still a way to flag must listen show. Thanks everyone along the way for helping me refine my search tools.

This part of the era isn't really my forte, but had a few quirks to go off of. Still took a lot longer finding the sweet spot. I guess back to this homework I managed to procrastinate

After guessing the right year, the hint with the debut of the release before being played live skewed my thought thinking it must be an opener, well after parading the whole decade I finally went back to where I started and there it was. One of my fav tunes!
