For some reason, I didn't instantly recognize the TJ from this show - weird because the show is in my current rotation on my phone, work computer, and the TV at home. It's not like it should have been hard to find. :-) On LaMA, be sure to check out the Betty Board that Charlie Miller transferred - two names that can't be beat when it comes to the subject at hand.

sat down to my supper
logged in to see who won the samson delilah and start on today's selection and i see the winner for yesterdays selection- passenger. i'm all where's the freakin' samson? then i realize it's after midnight and i missed a whole day. crap on a stick. better head back to tennessee
so was there no winner for the studio outtake? they give the answer but no winner
Correct
no S&D winner. Since not a concert venue track, not too surprising?
Jed cut to start?
sure is good tho!
Cut start
The recording I listened to on LMA didn't play a botched start: wonder where Dave got his?
Feelin' it
Jerry & Co. sure were in a lively mood here. That's what strikes me most about this year: the band playing with reckless abandon and loads of confidence; lots of whooping, growling, and even banter during songs; Jerry's voice showing first signs of cracking during the high notes; Bobby playing a lot of slide.
Smokin'
holy shit that is a smokin' Jed. easy to pick the year. took a little searchin'. this version needs some heady love...

Today completes my 58th trip around the sun and will be my 42nd year on the bus. Thanks to all and every for a real good time.
Happy Birthday to you WackaloonQ
Great North Special, would you all board
You can't find a ride like that no more
The night the chariot swung down low
Ninety-nine children had a chance to go
One long party from front to end
Tune to the whistle going round the bend
No great hurry, what do you say?
Might as well to be every way
Whew ...
Great rendition ... but whoever set this one up is one evil bastard.
Wide spectrum of reviews for this show.
vroom vroom vroom...vroom vroom!

The year...
Got the year right away. Vocals, keys sound, Bob slide, band overall groove point to one year.
Strange that beginning though...
I found one version out there that does not have the "zzzzrrrrrpppp" abrupt press-record-tape-speed-adjust cut in at the beginning.
It has the whole T.J. song intact pretty much in crystal board form.
And it synced up almost * perfectly in speed with the 30DoD website (* a fluctuation near the ending threw it off by a fraction).
Other versions of the show out there are all aud. And some boards with aud patches.
Aint no place I'd rather be...
on a Monday morning than right here listening to this uplifting music. Would have been fun to have been there back then too. Sounds like a happy time is being had by all! Thanks Dave et. al.
TNJ, S&D
Surf's up! What a rocking show! Not surprised there was no winner in the Samson and Delilah. I could find no mention of any specific studio time other than 11/2/76 and 2/17/77 (2/20 probably didn't happen). I picked the 2/17 because the version on the web so closely matched the release. Also 2/17 was the date given on several of the other tracks listed on the Complete Studio Rarities release. It was a shot in the dark. I did apparently get the venue correct, saying it was Club Front in San Rafael. Do we get half credit for that?
Took time today
The key I got it .... whewww. Hope all the children got it too, people!
Wow!
