Actually really helps again here. Still waiting for the curveball. It's been easy again this year. I don't think anybody with a handle has won this year. Only a first name basis. Interesting. Maybe I should log out and enter my guess that way...

Only 429 possibilities. Give me a couple minutes.

99.9% of the time, the daily winner is known by their first name/last name initial on the site. Probably because that is how they are notified via email. The 3 times I have won, that's the way I was listed. Haven't won for about four years, and I usually run a success rate of 50-60 percent. Just remember, even if you aren't a daily winner, any successful answer throws you into the pot of gold for the Grand Prize. So if you get all 30 days correct, you have 30 chances to win the biggie. It would be fun to know how many participate though. I love 30 DoD

@rasta5ziggy When I've won in the past, it's displayed my username, but I'm sure it all depends on whether the winner was logged into the site when they submitted their entry or not...if not logged in, the form is different and asks for name/email/etc.

Fairly confident I got today's thanks to the clue

Sitting on the beach in Antigua in the bright sunshine- thanks for the killer hint to make this an easy one to start my day…

I was wrong about 6 possibilities. There were two. Turns out this Deal went down in my favorite year of all, a year when the Dead rocked it out East Coast style.

Is the the first real hint in the history of 30 D.O.D??!! If not, it's certainly the best hint I can remember (maybe too good of a hint??) Happy listening y'all!

Clue today made it too easy. Gotta love that yesterday’s pick was 10 years to the day before the previous pick. And a Hartford Civic Center (forget the current name, it will ALWAYS be the Civic Center) pick; the place where I saw 2 great shows in 1990 and JGB in 89 and 91, not to mention the countless Whalers games growing up.

Interesting.....thanks for the info......I never login when I make my pick, so I did not realize there is a different format if you do login. I'm glad it's not necessary to login to make the pick though. I only login to share comments. And it's good to know that's not required. My favorite win for me (of my 3 wins) was 11/23/2019, which was the combo Standing on the Corner/Mindbender (Confusion's Prince) from performance of 2/23/1966. Won a 7" single, white vinyl. I remember fellow Heads that were doing deeper dives disputed that win because I used DeadBase IX, which lists only 2 choices, but only one with this combo. DeadBase IX is still my only source. I got a good laugh from the questions I received about how I found the answer. Probably more sources now to confirm that correct answer, but fun all the same. Back to the herb now. Everybody just hang loose.

That combined with Jerry's voice made is pretty simple. I like how Dave added about 30 seconds of dead air to throw off timing comparisons...thanks, Dave!

The drum fill in the first couple minutes and Jerry's voice narrowed it down. Well the hint really helped too. A fine year whew. They loved this state that's for sure. Many great memories live and tape with the versions of Deal that would push the band and crowd excitement HIGHER!! ONE MORE SOLO.... AND ANOTHER KEEP GOING KEEP GOING.... oh how I loved that when he would just dig in, hold the guitar up a bit, bob a little back n forth, bend at the knees a bit and just let another guitar solo loose on Deal... and then another....

I spent more time than necessary as I did not pay attention to Dave's hint. I had the general time frame and found it within 30 mins or so but the hint would have made very quick work things. Part of the fun is stumbling across other gems yet to be discovered. 11 for 14 thus far, pretty good for this rookie

...definitely helped me to find this one quicker though Jerry's voice gave me a narrower window of the decade of Brent.

If it weren’t for David’s hint today, I would have been spending WAY more time.
Goes to show you don't ever know what hints & clues will help you nail the show.
Deal has always been one of my faves.
Huge thank you to David and especially the band for their endless generosity. The selfless decision they made to allow Heads to record and share their live shows will have an impact on many generations to come.

incredible year, one of my favorites. Always loved this city, but for some reason this was the only shows I missed this tour(and from '82 till they no longer played there), not sure why ,but missed some really good shows.
The Fire on The Mountain from yesterdays show Hartford is smoking ,check it out if you haven't already.

Rochester, NY, Community War Memorial Auditorium
This was the second to last show at the War Memorial in Rochester, where the Dead had played plenty of great shows through the 1970s and 1980s. Often a set closer, Deal started included a big closing jam in late 1980.
