Always a treat to visit those days!

This sounds like it could be side 2.5 of livedead. What an amazing era ... fantastic recording and awesome jamming by the boys

i happen to have been listening to this show obsessively for many months, so recognized it immediately even before cracking open my Deadbase.

Excellent recording for the the time period. As I was listening to the jam between China and Rag I defiantly heard the transition to Rider in there. The seed was planted.

Once again that feeling like I've been here before. Can't quite figure out why.

I haven't listened to any Dead from that year in a while so this was fun if not very challenging.

Such a gem of a tune

Everyone who was at the 3/21/92 show will remember the snowstorm we woke up to the next morning. “It’s only lake effect snow” said the locals. So after a killer breakfast, Dr Mike and young Sean and I hit the road. After a brief stop at a BK on Grand Island (nearly impossible to find in the whiteness) to retrieve some buds we had stashed behind a toilet (didn’t want to bring anything into Canada but definitely needed something for the ride home) we hit the road. The ride back to Boston was hellish- cars sliding off the road, us stopping at each rest area to make sure the “friends” we’d met early back down the highway were still alive! It was too stressful for me to drive- I sat in the back “twisting” while my buddies drove. Took us 16 hours for a ride that supposed to be more like 9… That trip was one I’ll never forget!

Yep, remember this one from years' past and the WOO! was the clue. Transitional time indeed.

Now that was easy. Still honing their craft! Almost one year before my 1st show, and never got off that bus!

… may be apparent, but it’s tough to say for sure given the era.

...and doin' that rag. Maybe the best rendition of this trippin' song. And check out the wild opening of the next song at this show - and the evolution of the band's improvisation through the rest of this formative period. Maybe Dave can see fit to offer up some of those other enlightening gems from this show (please?). Ah well, let the rain come, just keep doin' that rag!

is a few months?

Woo! I learned something new at Grateful Dead school today! Too bad they didn't play Doin' That Rag more often as it's got some of Hunter's most wonderfully Weird lyrics.

You shouldn't need to look for awhile to find these proud-walking jingles.
Everywhere I go the people all know everyone is playin 30 Days of Dead.
