...but at least I'm enjoying a ride. I wouldn't know where to begin, but I know today's hint is legit.
Here's another one: "all the king's horses and all the kingsmen couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again"
with just one note and that really narrows it down a bit.
The Doo Wop song WildBill29 referenced and my hint of Dog Breath are both songs written by one of last centuries greatest composers, producers, arrangers and guitar players Frank Zappa. The doo wop song, Memories of El Monte by the Penguins was released in 1963 (the year I was born) before Frank had his own band and records. There is a wiki page where you can read all about it. He was a big doo wop fan so it should come as no surprise.
...it's another either/or tricky situation.
I think this is when Dan Healy started adding sound effects to Hell In A Bucket. It was fun to go through shows from that time period. I saw Ladnarc mentioned my reference to Memories of El Monte. My dad turned me onto all those great Doo Wop songs. But I had no clue it was written by Zappa. Blows my mind.
so, i'm lazy, and chose to not search for the right one, but just chose one of my favs, and hope i'm right. anyone else ever do that? like picking lottery numbers. wish me luck...!!!!
on this really high energy Bucket! I wonder if that was real live bullwhip and chopper sounds??? I've heard Parish used to roll his Harley hog up there and mic it and give er the gas....too cool. Sounds recorded to me but super cool nonetheless. And I can't think of a better way to come down than with a sweet and sugary Sugaree!
Also, what's in a name????(not much I hope as compared to a date).
With notable and enjoyable exceptions, our esteemed host tends to keep staying away from runs and tours he hasn't given us before. Looking near where he's picked in prior years often narrows things down considerable much.
Should have payed attention to sound effects comments and I wouldn't have had to go through 6 years worth of searching. Was at this show as well as the whole tour. It was a little too much of a good thing.
The sound effect hints were helpful. I ended up focusing on the final vocals and outro in Sugaree and was able to find this one a lot quicker than I expected to.
One last voice is calling you, "RIDE RIDE"
How come you lay awake all night long?
Maybe you're listening to numerous versions of Bucket-Sugaree?
And if that jubilee don't come
Maybe you'll get tomorrow's song....
Started off getting it down to about 70 shows both songs were played during the time period. Then down to 40 shows with right order and placement. Then 5 shows with the right time length. The one sound effect stuck out out like a soar thumb. Did have to do a double check on the venue, knew I had the right date.
This combo occurred 36 times. The file begins with crowd noise, eliminating three with a segue into Hell in a Bucket. One can hear Brent, which eliminates the five from after 7/23/90, leaving twenty-eight. The file cuts off immediately at the end of Sugaree, in the middle of a note, eliminating all but the three that include a segue out of Sugaree.
What a show. Hey now... Hey now......
Can't stop listening to Brent.........oh baby..... we gotta go!!!
good work tonight folks!!!!
First Pigpen cut in a long, long time. How bout a Good Lovin' from '72? Dig it.
