keep waitin for that next shoe to drop... nope not this time. been a rather easy wind through this 30 days so far, what with these combinations and even real hints if not the answers flat out. but one thing's for certain i know at least I'm enjoyin the ride cause every day has been a real smoker in one way or another. my only complaint is that it's going by too fast. keep on truckin on.

Didn't even need to listen to this one.

I'll be coming back to this show. It would make a nice Dave's Picks (hint hint).

Hunter's Hounds of the Baskervilles visage
And lyrics penned via Shakespear's "Hamlet"
With a little Cowboy Neal and Eileen's little girl
Sandwiched in between
Grateful for this splendor and the company we keep
For our time together, short yet so sweet
Honor the past, embrace the future
Today is our present, this moment, our life
Love and Light to you all

Not like a few years ago where you had to go through 647 "Playing in the Bands" to find the one that was just exactly perfect......not sure if that is good or bad.
Then again, may get my wish soon enough.

And I won day 5, 2010. I think it was from 5 20 73. Either that, or 5 13 Des Moines. Man, was I ever over the moon and I won a copy of road trips 4.1.

Was 2010 the first year of 30 Days? When did they switch from giving CD's as daily prize to calendars? That very cool winning a Road Trips. I really liked that series, especially the Big Rock Pow Wow and Valentine's Day show with the first-time lyrics of "The bus came by, and I got on....".....Historical......My first year of 30 Days was 2019, unless I threw out my results, since I just keep them on paper inside my DeadBase IX. Since it's a random drawing for the daily, can you be picked more than once in the month? What was the Grand Prizes back in the early days? Enjoy the calendar!!

I can't remember the answer to any of your questions except that yes, 2010 was the first year. I do seem to recall , you had to be first to get the answer back in the day and it was a lot harder. It's always 420 somewhere. For some reason , all my clocks are set to that time. 😉

I was grooving hard to this Althea just last night! Sent my buddies a note, “think I found my new favorite version”…swear to God… Charlie Miller just put this out recently with some phase repair down to the files…this one is so good!

Since a few of you mentioned winning, what happens if you win? Did you get an E-mail at the end of 30 days or the day you were announced? Love the tempo of the Cassidy on today's 30 DOD

I got an email. They also announced it and published my name in the almanac which is actually unusual. Then they sent me the boxed set (Listen to the River), which I already had a copy of.

I won the daily prize a few years ago. Then, I received nothing at all. I emailed them after a month or two and they apologized and said they were out of calendars. So they sent me two CD sets instead - Warfield and Ready or Not, I believe. It was nice. Of course, I already had copies of those as well.

I can't remember the answer to that question either. Perhaps someone that has won more recently could help you out with that. It's 420, gotta go! Puff puff pass.

I won in 2010, and haven't won since. That year there were daily prizes (first correct submitted), and then a weekly prize (drawn from all the correct responses that week). I won the weekly, which was The Warner Bros. Studio Albums 5 LP 180g Box Set. Nice prize. I may have had a choice of what I wanted, but can't remember for sure. As was said, back then it was the first correct reply. Also, once the day was over, the song was gone. You could not go back and download any previous days. The conditions and prizes have changed over the years. I really don’t care about winning. The dozens of hours of free music over the years is prize enough.

Is it just me, or is Althea cut-off at the beginning?

No, cut off. I do wonder which song the audience was requesting at the end that jerry said that would be a heck of a song to play. Anyone catch that?

-Edit- I guess it is cut off after all. I didn't notice that the first couple times. Good catch.

Definitely not lacking in some direction when searching for this trio.
This space is gettin' hot On Day 19.
I truly hope this winter is not so hard and cold.
Nothing to tell now, aside from looking forward to Day 20.
Thanks again David

Someone is playing maracas or eating a bag of potato chips or both during Althea, which is a first for me. The band seems distracted during this show. Not playing bad, they just sound different somehow.

I’ve won twice over the years - 2014 and 2018 (as best I can recall). Two calendars! But I don’t think any of us are in it for the swag. I’ve been on board since the beginning, and now every year I swear I’m not going to participate and every year I just get sucked in. I find it all very therapeutic! On a more immediate note: I finally had the courage to check the answer on the 11/10 He’s Gone that we all struggled with, for me well past midnight CST. Happy to report I got it right and remain undefeated!

Dire Wolf debuted in 1969 with Bob Weir singing lead vocals. It was released on the 1970 classic Workingman's Dead. Bob's Cassidy, from his 1972 album Ace, debuted live in 1974 but was only played once that year, before returning in 1976. Althea debuted in mid-1979, and was released on the Dead's 1980 Go To Heaven album
