380
380 give or take a few. now that's a number i can live with
BTW- i gotta come clean after all this time, and i always feel weird after clicking that button. but i actually am a robot. shhh don't tell anybody
There it is
Ha! We got our search for this one. Odd thing - I wandered about going backwards, only to find that I ended up where we'd been before. So many variations to the opening of this stalwart, including a real jazzy one. Loving Jerry's doodling, another treat.
ha yep
much quicker than anticipated at first glance until i took a hard listen.
i was just randomly poking around in the archives-this is not a hint or related to today's entry at all- but stumbled across the feb '86 at the kaiser shpw. not the best and recording's kinda weak but some very interesting dead played that night. if you got time. which you might still after this pick. it's worth checking out.
The summer of that particular year…
Vince didn’t get tones that made him sound decent as the sole keyboardist until late ‘91. His keys would start having better quality tones by the next summer, although Jerry’s energies started waning at that time….
Oof
Not much to go on here. May have to leave this one to the professionals. Unless someone wants to drop a surreptitious hint...
oops
looks like someone already did
oops
looks like someone already did
oops and it posted twice
Wake now, discover
Wake up to find out that David brings us another set of Eyes.
I had one of those flashes, we'd been there before.
Might take a bit of listening to discover the correct song that this morning brings.
No easy hints on Day 22. Good luck all.
Found it on my second try.
Must be Karma, the two's have it...
Math geek time
Find a number that is both a triangular number and at the same time is a Fibonacci number.
you're off by 2
you're off by 2
There follows a way-gon
Who else pronounces wagon this way? When I hear Mayer sing this I always chuckle. No one can do it like Jerry did :)
After a fun 30 minutes I landed where we've been before. Beautiful rendition here. Bobby's phrasing in the opening moments is sweet
Peace y'all
The seeds that were silent all burst into bloom, and decay
What looked to be a daunting task initially was pretty darn quick search and find. Lot of clues narrows it down to a pretty tight window. You all have a beautiful day. Be Well
Great way to start the day!
Great version of Eyes, morning coffee, and first try!
Fun version
Narrowed down the era, and the fact that it comes from a standing start rather than out of Estimated or a song like that. Took a few versions but found an extra Jerry embellishment that synced up.
The Current Total, Cool Beans
As of today 6 hours 48 minutes of a great new playlis
SEEMS LIKE I’VE BEEN HERE BEFORE…
.
Indeed, wonderful venue
It was always so cozy and great shows here. We'd go every year. So took the words right out of my mouth.
AHA! Spot the difference...
It's what is not... there. Timings, tempos, sounds, lead guitar tones help especially that intro guitar solo at about 49 seconds in are very helpful. But to clue down the era I had to think differently. As soon as I changed my approach I found it right away.
First Try!
Thanks to 2 or 3 clues in the comments, one of which is pretty close to TMI. But no complaints from me, lol. Read them again Ron, it's pretty clear. But it wasn't the math clue as I had no idea what that was. That guy is smarter than the average bear.
Cheers
Edit - Smallz mentions way-gon for wagon. I also hear nut-thatch for nuthatch every time.
Thanks for this blissful romp through the years.
I landed on it with my first choice..... but checked a few others just to be sure.
I was there that day, so it was locked up in my memory.... and like Proust's taste of the Madeleines, the sound of that day unlocked my memories of that dancing day
Follow the clues
All the clues do lead you to it and the math hint put me in the year. The Way-Gun and Nut Thatch, bingo. My clue is the initial guitar at the 10 sec going into eleven sec.there is 1 note out of the scale and off by a half note.Dulling the sweet strumming. All pieces fell into place in 5 hours. My biggest mistake is not paying close attn to the first listen. I dive right into the clue and it put me at the wrong starting point. Good Luck. It is there.
I know that note
I'm looking for that off note but so far I haven't found it
Ask and ye shall receive...
Thanks for the help everyone!
Go Buckeyes!
I made a marathon out of…
I made a marathon out of what should have been a 5k. Mental rigidity strikes again. Took a couple steps back and there it was.
I finally got it
kind of tricky
Wait now discover you were completely lost....
That was quite a search! Not nearly as challenging as the He's Gone from London. I started at an obvious place, but when things didn't match up I went in a different direction, eliminating multiple years when the Eyes were far shorter. Eventually I returned to within a year of my original starting place and finally stumbled onto the correct show. If you're still struggling just keep at it. It''s out there.
SPANISH JAM
If ya found today's show, check out the unlabeled SPANISH JAM out of TRUCKIN'.!!! (NOT a clue.) ;p (I saw this show!!!)
Was about to throw in the towel...
but finally stumbled across it. Fun one.
I made that much harder than it needed to be
The amount of Eyes intros i listened to over the last 23 hours... ****
But still 20/22
By the skin of my chinny chin chin
Fruitless efforts yesterday looking for the right EOTW. Woke up this morning, and took a punt and landed on the right date first time.
