Originally part of Kingfish's repertoire, and recorded for their 1976 studio album, Lazy Lightning>Supplication made the move the Dead's live setlists in June 1976 when they hit the road again. It stuck around until Hallowween 1984 in Berkeley

    Thanks to all for the wondrous opportunity to participate, to be engaged, to wander about in this musical realm, with such devoted and inspiring beings. 12th year, ave. 89%, 2 years 30/30, trying mostly on my own, but at times could not have succeeded without hints, directions, or encouragement. Lately been reading up on quantum mechanics and entanglement, that led me to a rabbit hole, and started to look back into archives regarding the ESP dream experiment shows at Port Chester, 1971. Then to the Pyramid shows in Egypt, and the full lunar eclipse on the third night. "Magic is what we do, music is how we do it. ~ Jerry Garcia

    pretty fun version and the intro of course. 3 shows from this greater metropolitan area in just 23 days, i dont mind though cuz its home for me. 20/23

    Batting around .700

    Done better, done a lot worst. No matter what it's fun to play. Have had three wins, so think that might be sufficient. Still hoping for Grand some day, but not really why I play! Seemed to sync at start, got out for a while, then back in about 5:30, pretty good the rest of the way. Nice versions!

made for a pretty straight forward search.
agreed on this favorite duo, wish i could have heard it live sometime, had two years in which to get lucky but never happened.
and a fun show to listen to, this venue never seems to disappoint.

It's amazing that we have such an incredible source for that which gives us so much enjoyment....The Archive.... providing the music we all love and which makes 30 Days of Dead even possible.
Give what you can to The Archive…now with a 2 to 1 match.
What else in our daily life gives us so much enjoyment without costing us anything?? (Besides air) (~};-)

My first purchase of vinyl was a 45 of John Lennon with Power to the People on one side- it was gift for my older brother.

Power to the people ... right on. Found today's show and now taking it from the top.

After the five LL/Supplications (one repeat) over the years my notes were detailed enough to get this one right away. @Hornsby: I got one at my first show, which was six days before this version! Hoping for something easy on Thanksgiving.

Such a great Bobby song combo and had the pleasure of seeing it played in Pittsburgh at my very first Dead show in 1978.

In my top 5 Jerry noodling on a Bob song. Love Supplication!
Very distracting as I wanted to listen to every choice.
Still unsure but I picked one after working on it for hours.

Thanks for posting support for Internet Archive and alerting folks to it. Ditto everything you said—I'm with you 100%!
I've benefited immeasurably from their GD archives, not just during November, but throughout the year! So I started supporting them years ago and I especially love contributing during this 30 DoD time of the year.
I hope some of you will also consider giving what you can!

Tidbits: There's an incredible group of folks over there at Internet Archive, endlessly archiving music, literature, films, and more! Last May, volunteers were even working with people in Ukraine when the war started, rushing to archive Ukrainian websites & digital resources before they were taken down & erased. Incredible work they're doing!
It's fun to poke around to see what they offer. But mostly (of course!), there's the joy of all the Grateful Dead recordings, where the music never stops.

Some of the versions seemed so near I started to wonder.
But after further evaluation I think I found the proper potion.
These 30 Days have been a little bolt of inspiration.
Hope you don’t have too much sleepy fire in your eyes after ingesting all the food tomorrow.
I am very thankful for the Grateful Dead and all it’s extended family.

My Lightnin' too! No end to the Pleasin' this month. AND, the Lightnin' synced perfectly the whole way through. Not so much with the Supplication part though. Must be something wrong with my head. But I'm working on it.

That was a whole lotta fun and I'm truly thankful.

This was fun to try to get that crazy Bob count-off. 1-2 (secret agent man???)... still trying to decipher that. He did not count if off 1-1-2-3-5-8-13-21-34-55-89-144 though... I am pretty sure of that.

23/23 woo hoo! So much fun here. I hope everyone has a great day tomorrow and many more!

I also used Bob's count-in whenever a version I was listening to started before the music. And I can't figure out what he says either. Sounds like "1-2-3 sit there" something something.

...and just to keep it all more confusing, on the original Kingfish album it's written as Lazy Lightnin' with the apostrophe at the end.

for 23. I think that's the best I've ever done. Been playing this for all of the 13 years. Never got anywhere close to 30 for 30, between not being able to find, to not having the time some days. Sure it's been the easiest year ever but I'll take a 23 streak. Dorky day.

1970, 7 years old, Green Bay WI, walked two blocks to the Shopko and bought my first record. In '76 at age 13 had all the american Capitol Beatles records. And then I moved on to Jerry and Jazz eventually. Peter Jackson's 7+ hours Get Back documentary of the making of Let It Be was little bit of 'died and went to heaven' for me.

Went down to the local record store today to get my number (7) for my position in line for Record Store Day Friday. Still addicted to those round vinyl platters. Music is the best.

One of my favorite pairs and this one is smokin. Time frame here is a no brainer and for whatever reason, I thought this sounded like a particular venue. I listened to those three and it wasn't there so proceeded to a similar sized venue and hit it on the fourth listen. My third year of 30 Days and lovin' it!
