Happy Thanksgiving! Praise and thanks to David Lemieux for another bountiful year of GD goodness.

I see some folks can't handle their clues around here. This forum is probably an accurate microcosm of a Dead show, so we can all try to show a little more grace, empathy, and mercy for each other's various trips and get along for the sake of the music. It'll all be over before you know it.

I haven't really started working on this one yet and 330 different performances of Stella Blue is a little daunting, to say the least. I'm going to have to put my thinking cap on for this.

Until then, I hope everyone has a wonderful feast today, even the trolls!

Happy Thanksgiving all!
Would have loved to have been at this show.
Special thanks to all those who have served, our first responders, teachers of our children, and those who keep us safe.
We all must never forget, nothing comes for free..
Thanks for the 30 Days David & Co!

The clue is very helpful, though a bit tricky, but luckily I got it on my 2nd try after I figured out it was the alpha, not the omega.

Such a beautiful song from the broken angel...

y'all. 12 years of free music from one of our favorite bands to obsess about. A fun contest you could do with few other bands and prizes ranging from token (calendars) to worthy (CD sets.) What's to complain about? Well, OK, I've been slightly uppity in past years but I've reined it in. But to be calling people boneheads over things you don't want to read here as if you're the webmaster, please. If coming to this forum and reading our posts about how we found the show or that we were there or that we leave a little hint makes you aggravated but you still read them, that's on you not us.
I'm in therapy. Highly recommended.

The words come out like an angry stream.
You hear yourself say things you could never mean.
When you cool down you find your mind.
You got a lot of words you've got to stand behind. ~Comes a Time~

I know I'm no angel, my prospect's are high.
As the flood lines in summer, when the rivers run dry.
But I'll roll up my shirt sleeves and give my best shot,
To show that I love you, believe it or not. ~Believe It Or Not~

I flew from the Dead's birthplace all the way to an east coast city...in a very small state...where yesterday's answer happened to be played! Go figure.

Also a fun bit of trivia that I'm sure you old farts clamoring for Pig shows already know: Stella Blue made her debut on Pigpen's final show.

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all. I'm certainly thankful for this little puzzle every day this month.

The Hint was helpful this time, though I did enjoy and excursion through several Stella Blues from this era and liked hearing the evolution.

The hint says this was "AN IMPORTANT SHOW IN THE GRATEFUL DEAD'S HISTORY." What was specifically important about this show? I guess don't post an answer to my question until tomorrow.

I would answer your question, but that wouldn't be kosher (unlike this show)

And when you hear that song
Come crying like the wind
It seems like all this life
Was just a dream

Thankful for the Grateful Dead and all of you!

The intro to Stella Blue set up the song nicely. They did clue us in easily again. The tail end after song tunings helped out too.

Read a little bit about the show. It was a big one.

Only a few days left. Thank you dead dot net ! Good to see and hear all y'all again! Enjoy! Drive/fly/eat safely.

this one tape...some if it is not the best recording even being a "composite" SBD & audience.
Maybe a 'first played' is the historical importance..
The guy talking really threw Jerry's timing off

'There's nothing you can hold for very long'

It was at this particular show that Jerry debuted his famous Turkey guitar. LOL. Of course I'm kidding. Who wants to see a hundred comments from someone who ran out of Zoloft?? Not this guy! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Thismikebenz: I wondered about this too and couldn’t figure it out until after I posted my guess. If you look at this date in proximity to other shows you’ll understand immediately.

around the edges. Stella hadn't quite found her legs yet.
Oh, and thanks for the spontaneous combustion. Now you see it, now you don't.

Many years later we were overjoyed when the Dead broke out one of the songs towards the end of this show during one the those wonderful HJK runs that included a Mardi Gras show. We left with that joy the great shows always leave one with, to wander back out to the little park with the reflections on the lake and all of the background percussion of folks gathered around the giant dumpster that had also become an instrument.

Words of gratitude just keep coming, but mainly thanks to you all for being part of this experiment of joy, love and music every October and always! There truly is nothin else like our Dead community!
Deep gratitude to the band(!), to David & Co. who bring the music so generously, and to each of you who make my heart so full each year with this journey.

And how ‘bout a glass of Frozen Logger (or Morning Dew if you prefer), a Spoonful of Born Cross-Eyed peas, and a little Candyman with Sugaree on the side! Certain to guarantee Satisfaction!

Listen here at about 7:22 and 8:00 into this. There's a brief quiet shimmer (~ 4 seconds each time) of Jerry's fretting tremolo, that sounds like a Hammond organ.
