Started backwards and found it rather quickly amidst a trove of bounty. Seems like we've been this way before.
Peace and love y'all

I've been participating in "30 DOD" for quite a while now,
Everyone has a favorite, and this one is mine.
I'm giving 5 STARS just for RECORDING alone and for the PERSON behind that SOUNDBOARD.
We all know who HE or SHE is......
"SILKY SMOOTH SHOW" and it's so "DAMN GROOVY TIGHT" like most shows in this era of the DEAD
A must listen, Jerry is SPECTACULURE throughout this show, WAIT the COMPLETE BAND just RIPS!

PEACE MY FRIENDS!!!

Here we are with the 16th iteration of 30 Days of the Dead. I've never had my name pulled but I win everytime I can pick the song! Hornsby - like you, this Lazy Lightning>Supplication was but 5 shows away from my favorite show that I attended.

I just want to say, with 5 days left for this year, that I am also very Grateful for this month and the Dead community. It was 10 years ago when I reached out here to help locate Stu Nixon as I wanted to let him know about an issue with the Kindle version of Deadbase. He gifted me a hardcover copy and signed it. Since then, I have done much better with these moments of time delivered by Mr. David Lemieux.

Thank you all - give Thanks to all the music you have heard this year. I know I am.

Peace

Over 100 possibilities today but not too tough really, if you zero in on the era (my favorite era). Counting today, 15 in a row and 17/25 overall. FIVE MORE DAYS! It's an obsession but it's pleasing.

I won. I never got to see them live, but I remember being a kid driving down lake shore drive watching all the dead heads near Soldier Field. I’ve listened to a lot of shows. If I could time travel I think I’d go back to any run I think it would be 10/16-20/74. See the Wall of Sound and all those great jams. Anybody else? Thanks Dave & Dead!

Feels good, doesn't it?! Yeah that was a great run to time travel back to. I think I'd like to be right there with ya experiencing my 1st GD shows too :)

That could have been worse. I had narrowed it somewhat and then had to start brute forcing it and I only had to do 20 or 30 before I stumbled across it. And a wonderful tune it is! The quintessential Bob tune to me.

Thought this would be nigh on impossible but narrowed it down to possibile shows in a particular year and then worked through to find what I think/hope is the right show.

I woudl like to add my sincere thanks to Dave and everyone at Team GD who has made this annual treat possible. And to all my US Heads, love reading your comments and connecting with you all through cyber space. Have a wonderful, peaceful and blessed Thanksgiving. Peace and Love to you all.

Way to go SMALLZ. It kinda makes you feel special, though I'm sure you enjoy 30 Days for more than winning!

Breaks the rules but I am positive I have a precise match perfectly synched up including the after notes. Gotta go with it. One hint is slightly inaccurate but I didn't even need a starting point for this beauty from a favorite era. One of the top versions I would say. Loving it!
Cheers

I went searching everywhere for that Lazy->Supplication. Imagine how foolish I feel to discover it’s right in the heart of one of my favorite shows from the era. I knew that intro was familiar….

The keyboard player was exploring the Moog synthesizer during this tour, and he typically started this song out on the Moog. Here, the grand piano is used, which gave me a good place to start.

I never thought it about before but it looks like Lazy Lightning was never played without Supplication. Supplication was played without Lazy Lightning around a dozen times.

I was lucky to see this a few times. The sound brings me right back to a great Kingfish tape I had from the Calerdone Concert Hall - crystal clear

and I.......finally got thru.

The sound is so clear and the guitar interplay among Jerry, Bob and eventually Phil between minutes five and 8 is some of the finest I've heard. Truly a music playing the band situation. It's short but soooooo sweet.

A couple of songs that the band stopped playing way too soon after I got on the bus (SUPPLICATION jams notwithstanding). Was only lucky enough to catch the pairing once in its penultimate performance- exactly the same amount of times I caught ST STEPHEN and REVOLUTIONARY HAMSTRUNG BLUES!
Those of you unfamiliar should check out the original LL->S on KINGFISH. Slow and funky, it’s the centerpiece of a great album

And late congrats to smallz. Well deserved to someone who’s been here as long as me…I’ve won only once and it was damn exciting… WOO!

Ended up white-knuckling my way through SO MANY little "tuning" jams going into Lazy Lightning. After a certain point once I've heard it so many times and so many different versions, that match is unmistakable and so satisfying. Grateful for the music and fun excuses to deep dive in ways I wouldn't have done on my own.

This offering should've been a whole lot quicker for me to find. Instead of systematically checking all unreleased dates like I should have, I started where I thought it might be (which was totally wrong) and then from there I just plain overlooked a complete month.
There was enough musical cues thanks to Kieth but there was a few other shows with long versions of the song couplet that kept me searching confused. Glad I got this one, the window of possibilities wan't too vast, even though they sure played this song a lot!

This duo is always so inviting, but it did start messing with my reason.
It could be an infatuation cause I kept on tryin until I got through.
Little bolt of inspiration On Day 25.
Getting that sleepy fire in my eyes.
Guessing the next 5 Days will continue sparking our imagination.

This combo just strikes the right chord for me. Lucky to have caught it twice: Red Rocks '83 and Halloween '84. We've started preparing the feast tonight to make light work on Thursday. Grateful are we in so many ways, and especially for this 30 DoD extravaganza with y'all. Wouldn't be nearly as fun without the gang. My 15th round (missed the first year), and doggedly persistent in finding the answer daily for the challenge and the 'ahaa!' moment when the buried treasure synchs up. Sometimes you're reaching for the gold ring down inside, never could reach reach it, just slips away, but I try.

That was the only BCT show I missed on that run and I was so sorry not to make it. In 83, we also couldn't get tickets in Marin but the adventures were well a lot of fun,

Fun to explore the different intros of LL. A few have the lead guitar playing an octave lower for the first few notes right at the start. And then there's that little filigree right before the vocals enter. That part and the first short break after the first verse helped narrow it down for me (a micro outer space note or 2 then... BACK into 2nd verse). Thought it had to be this year right away. Then I tried a few other areas in time for a poke around or 2... but then... all signs pointed to this year.

I was lucky enough to get to see them perform this live, although it's kind of hazy now. Hazy, hazy lightning!
