Marching to the end of this amazing month.
💀⚡️🥀
Yeah, I do believe I've got another one correct?! The Hint helped as they often do. I think the whistle gives it away and Dave's affinity for the month of April for a year that I consider to be Donna's best. Most pairings of Playin' were preceded with Terrapin in `78, not this time.
ThanX Dave!
easy on d hints
you gave a lot away in 1 sentence, band members, month, year, and key sounds.
please let the 30dod each find their own path
Last Pick of the Month?
Well, there's been no Fire.
Aslo, no Sailor~Saint.
That'd been a nice triple play there!
Any time that combo ever happened?
I got this one right away
Several easy tip offs to make it easy to identify...
Thanks Dead.net for another Grate 30 Daze!!
-edit- A 'lay up' you might say...
One More, Dave!
To quote Jerry.... "Thank you, for a real good time!"
Big Boss Man
Alas, another year without ONE Pigpen song. What's that, four years? What gives Dave???
Moribundjt’s EXCELlent Spreadsheet
Thank you! Your spreadsheet is 🔥
moribundjt's EXCELlent spreadsheet
I had it a few years ago, but it went away with my old computer's demise. How can I replace it?
30 DoD statistics
I would love to see how many people played each day, were successful each day, etc. I have no clue whether it's dozens, hundreds, or thousands. There's been a relatively small regular contingent of commenters on this page over the years, but I'm sure there's a large silent majority. Okay, everybody who played today, raise your hand, and I'll stand on my chair and count you all.
how do i dm you
my wackaloonq adds a man to it and then it’s at goog
day 29: smokin'
fiery stuff today. Yesterday was 3rd show from rosemont this month, what a world.
Great Year
This has probably been my best year. Although, there's been a couple tap-in putts.
Thanks to all for the free music!
Sometimes The Light's All Shining On Me...
...making it easier for me to draw a bead on those fish there in that barrel.
Unique - doesn't that mean it happened once?
Maybe I need clarity on the meaning of 'unique' b/c I thought that meant it only happened once ... still hunting!~
or maybe Dave needs clarity:
adjective
being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else.
"original and unique designs"
Congrats Don of Vancouver,......
Washington, that is. Or, the other Vancouver, as some Canadaites might say.
Washington state has done very well in the luck and prize departments this year. Here's hoping the streak continues. But I fear that statistically speaking, the odds are against it.
I believe I need a Miracle.
thanks to all!
another great thirty days comes to a close! what other band does this?thanks to Dave and the GD management!
so thankful for all you deadheads out there who provide the hints every day- some days when I am in a rush I use them!
Happy holidays to all!
Dylanesque
Yesterday's 3-10-93 caught my eye with 3 Dylan songs. Listened to the whole show and wow, a hot, solid 90's show. Jerry ripping it on Watchtower! Even tho they can't include songs written by others here, what a treat to run across them via archive! Worth checking out.
Oh yeah, regarding archive dot org — please join me in kicking a few bucks their way if you're able.
just sent bucks to internet archive
thanks for reminder just now gave bucks to National Archive
Thank you!
Thank you guys so much for the hints to knock it down to a year. I'd have been here for hours otherwise. What a great month to listen to the Dead!
Rosemont
Excited to see the Rosemont 93 spring shows daylighted this month. 3/10 was my first show, and a mind blowing introduction to live music for a 17 year old. Never been one to laud Corrina, but the corrina>MLBJ from this run is wonderful (and I think the last mind left body). Spring 93 had some real gems, and this is one of them. As a head that caught the tail-end of the 30 year train, I love to see more of 93-94 come out as official releases, warts and all, as they say. The sequence coming out of space on Jerry’s bday show in 94 at the palace is another later year show that I share with folks that aren’t familiar with this era…..the Stella is magnificent. Love Garcia’s bubbly tone on the Cripe guitar.
re:93-94
Agree wholeheartedly regarding yesterday's show. Really good stuff and thanks for expanding my mind.
And if you haven't already, be sure to check out 8/21-22/93 from Autzen Stadium in Eugene, OR. Great overall for a late era show. If time is limited, just check out the Broken Arrow and the Liberty and marvel at the wonderful harmonies produced. Especially Jerry and Vince's contributions. Gives me the chicken skin everytime. And I was THERE!
Thanks to all of you, especially Dave,
For Playin' in the heart of gold band, heart of gold band! So much fun for 30 days in a row. We are so fortunate to be on the bus, Truckin' all the way to Terrapin. May you all have a Grateful holiday season! Thanks for all the thoughtful, creative poetry and banter. May the Four Winds blow you safely home! See you here next year.
:::raises hand::::
I often wonder the amount of participants, I spin the wheel everyday, 27 for 29 this year! Here’s some data for the research committee, I have a circle of approximately 20 heads that I would consider “very into” the Dead, and I’m the only one who participates in 30DOD. They all make fun of me LOL.
Flipped a coin on the Mindbender and lost, but reading all the essays etc. the answer was right there! The other one was….ummm….I forget!
One More Day of Dead Let’s Ride On the Quasar!
THAT version of Truckin'.......
was truckin' AWESOME! May be the favoritest version these old ears have never heard. A real high octane ride. I bet the rest of the show will follow suit, and I aim to find out. The Playin' aint half bad neither.
What a short, sweet trip it's been. Thanks as always.
Fun way to start your day!
This is my 1st year participating. I’m 17 for 29 (pretty sure I aced today’s pick). Fun way to start your day. I have a Deadbase Jr. and access Internet Archive. I’m intrigued by the other sources mentioned, mainly essays. Today’s pick tour leg was epic. I was a freshman in high school and begged my Mom to let me go to the Columbus show, with some older friends. I never made it to the show. Fast forward to 1989, I owned cassettes of 5 shows from this leg. The whistle narrowed it down for me. I was babysitting my friend’s record store, Summer of 89, and I was playing one of the “said tapes” from a nearby venue. This guy starts yelling out, “THEY JUST DON’T PLAY LIKE THIS ANYMORE!”
WALSTIB
I’m already looking forward to 30 days next November.
Aye a fine intro laddie
Love that Scots drumming intro. Synced up nicely for a bit there. A fine tour indeed through some of the less played places. Used to listen to some of the shows from a week or 2 before a bunch back in the cassette days.
29/29. 1 mo to go. Always a hoot w/y'all!
Yes to echo earlier: please do not post a year or too many giveaway details that may be the answer in your comments.
Some folks look for answers
Lately, it occurs to me, how much I love the Grateful Dead.
First show I checked, but I know it come out right.
Oh I hope you understand.
I can't stop for nothing, I’m just Plain’ 30 Days of Dead.
Definitely got this one..
What a great version of Truckin > Playin. Have thoroughly enjoyed this year's 30 days. Thank you!
