I guessed UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, STUDIO SESSIONS with the date of 9/21/1968 for the JAM.
Close but no Cigar : )
Guessed - August 13, 1968
Had Location unknown studios session correct according to answer on here. But, wasn't the location Pacific Recording Studio in San Mateo, California ?
Heyyyy! I had the exact same answer as you . . . 8/13/68. Even tho it was a guess, it was as close as I could get. And you're right about the venue/studio in San Mateo for that date. But it wasn't a drop-down option, so I put Studio Sessions, Unknown. Pretty fun...we were walking down the same Golden Road.
I did the same, because the hint was sessions, not rehearsals. Good stuff! Glad to know I was at least sniffing it out right, if not finding.
DS > SS > 11 > Feedback
however, this one is:
Feedback > DS > SS > 11
if u smell what i'm puffin...
ps... what's up , rory!
it's been a minute...
hope alls well with u, brother...
btw, helluva guess!!

I'm hanging in there. I was trying to figure out what that said. My eyes registered straw cab at first lol. Love this St. Stephen Eleven primal dead
Dave L. One request for you. gotta get a Family Dog show up for Dave's Pick February 27-28 + March 1, 1970
the sept 1 unknown, now i get it, was thinking the 2nd or 3rd.
anyway umm last day and i haven't won yet sooooo...
been a stone cold groove as usual, and flew by , as usual
A big thanks to Dave and all the team at Dead.net for yet another great November......is it the best year yet.? And...what a fantastic combination to finish on.
Ten years of November downloads, six Pigpen songs. Disgraceful.
To TPTB, thanks for forgetting why there was a Grateful Dead...………….
What a hell of a month, and now we end with the holy trinity. The version I found has about 20 seconds lopped off the front of DS, but the rest syncs up nicely.
Dave, you've been awful generous with us yet again this year. Thank you from the bottom of my Dead heart. And, like you showed us a couple of times this month, you are the ultimate arbiter of GD jams on here (although I'm still miffed about 2/23 vs 5/19/66!).
See y'all back here around the same time next year when the leaves fall, the snow blows, the leftovers still taste delicious, and the jams build to transcendent moments of pure bliss.
It's a shame it has to end, but what a way to sign off - the all-time best sequence (and a performance with yet more feedback to boot!). Got a bit sideways tracking this one down (Saint vs. St. did the trick), but that only added to my enjoyment; the transition from DS to St.S is so exquisite, and I listened to a lot of them.
Thank you Dave, and to all - peace and hopes we find ourselves in a better place next year.
Gotta get over 2/23/66, brothers. It's just a game, and a good one at that. I never synch up anything, just listen to the music, make my choice, then pufffpuffpuff like that train. IT'S A NEW TRACK RECORD for me this year !!!!! Eight correct, including the CORRECT choice of 2/23/66. Missed yesterday's by 5 months, but I ain't complaining. See all in 2020, and the music will never stop.
WOW!!! 7 hours, 3 minutes and 22 seconds...this is the most Dead given out of any '30 Days of Dead.'
And that completes a full decade for me of '30 Days of Dead' starting w/ 2010 (that's a total of 300 songs coming in at 2 days,10 hours, 57 minutes, 24 seconds of beautiful sounds).
-- I can't believe it's been 30 days already. Wasn't it just July and we were all at the Dead and Co show in Boulder?
LOL. Well, it's been fun. I was hoping for a cool song for my birthday yesterday. You know, something like today's epic Dark Star or something big. I ended up jamming to Dave's Picks 29 since I was born on the 29th. That was the first show from 1977. Dick's Picks 29 is awesome too. It's the longest one of the bunch with 6 CDs from two shows in '77. I'd like to thank Dave for never picking my name all these years. If I won, I would stop trying. The searching is what keeps me going. See everyone next year.
Hey there! FYI, Dave puts up the music, but he doesn't pick the winners. Per the website info, "The Sweepstakes is sponsored by Rhino Entertainment LLC," and they manage the random winner picks. Regardless, don't ever stop searching! The search IS the destination.
Thanks to both Dave and Rhino!
It'll do you right. I thought I had half-a-chance with my unknown 68-8-13 guess. Ooh so close but no cigar. Well boys and girls, it looks like we have reached that part of the show where we have to say adieu. Keep on keepin' on, sails a-full, with ever an eye and ear on the beacon of the ship of the sun drawn by the good ol' Grateful Dead. See ya down the road...
Lay down my dear brothers, lay down and take your rest
Oh, won't you lay your head upon your savior's breast
I love you, oh but Jesus loves you the best
And we bid you goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Happy Birthday Wild Bill
Thanks Dave for another great albeit slightly weird year.
If it is unknown, how do we know it exists ?
May everyone have a great trip around the sun.
See yall next year
i could do this all year long!
Doesn't work....Deadbase shows that on 9/1/68, the Dead played that afternoon in San Francisco at the Palace of Fine Arts, then at the Fillmore.
According to the CD insert, they recorded jams on 8-13-68 in San Mateo... Clementine, Nobody's Spoonful and The Eleven.
If you go with 9/5 then the venue isn't 'unknown', it's the Pacific Recording Studio, as on 8/13.
The further back you go towards the beginning of their recordings live and studio, the more possibilities there are for uncertain dates. Deadbase is a fine source but over the years new discoveries, info and theories come up. So Deadbase might not be all correct on the info for 09-01-68 afternoon show. A bit murky. Possible record by day & gig at night? Or the site here is not quite sure either & is just going with a date listed on a reel tape? Hard to know for sure.
Good luck Searchlight casting for this sequence.
Talk about your plenty with these 30 Days!
I've been very grateful to gather what David has been spilling.
No more time to tell how many more songs we could have guessed.
Now is the time of returning to The Eleven other months....
Merry Christmas to everyone!
Shall we go, you and I while we can
Through the transitive nightfall of diamonds?
There it is....was waiting for the Dark Star to rise!
And yesterday I was only off by 11 days...got the generic venue, the month & year. For the day I put the 12th. I feel good about that!
Thanks Dave for another amazing year!
And thank you all Dead Family! Nice to be with those who understand...happy holidays.
I love it. One thing I have noticed over many a Dark Star is that the lyrics are written as "transitive nightfall of diamonds," but Jerry seems to always sing it as "transigent nightfall." Transigent as the opposite of intransigent?
Ha ha now that you mention it, it does sound like he sings that sometimes...although it's not a word. I suspect he's simply not pronouncing transitive clearly. 'Transitive nightfall of diamonds' is so trippy!!
Thank you very much David . My cup is full . May it be again , and yours as well . Merry Happy everyone !
Thank you for a real good time!!
Hey Now!! Is The 30 days available for a one-time download?
i missed a few days here n' there.....?
just to say thank you gratefuldead.net for all these November freebies, they are very much appreciated, i have them all from 2010 to today, hours of great music
Is this the first year we've had a day with no winner? At least this last one is a medium challenge, not as easy as some this year, nor as impossible as others!
11/9 and 11/29 there were no winners
A fine plethora of venues songs arrangements and just great music my favorite feature of Dead.net. Thank you very much!!!!
Another November has come and gone and like the others, this was a real treat we got to enjoy every day.
Thank you to all who makes this possible, its very much appreciated!
Well I had it down to the 8 track sessions but the clue tripped me up, "released album", even if we knew that wasn't used. Alas we finish with my favorite sequence and keep the feedback theme running. Thanks one and all!!!
What I want to know, where does the time go? It has been fun again this year and I can't wait to see my calendar.
Thanks for another great 30 Days.
Another fun time this year. Love it.
Today was a nice sound. Many real crystal clear moments.
And another tape from the vault that was just a bit more complete than the others out there in the world with that extra bit of Dark Star in beginning.
Still a little time left but the daily thrill fades back into the usual routine and that moment of I got it, A match recedes into the background. Hope to be back next year!
Great tunes this year. And thanks to all of you commenting. See you all next year!
I'll check tomorrow to see if Mr. Martin will be providing his awesome December fun this year. If so, I'll come back and post a link here.
May the music never stop!
I have no idea who Mister Martin is, but whatever happens, I'm in.
Thanks again, Dead.net for 30 Days of Dead!
Thank you very very much for the recordings and the work that it took to find them , upload them and most importantly, sharing them!
I can't believe another 30 Days of Dead has come to an end. Thank you all!
Thanks to everyone who put this together, can't believe that November has gone, it's been a great ride.
There's been some awesome tracks, several versions of which I hadn't heard before.
Keep on Truckin and have a great Christmas
What a monster month. Thanks everybody for making it fun. Thanks, Dave. See you all again here next year!
30 Days Of Dead 2019. But so thankful for the music and memories shared and for all the people that make this happen every year.
Cheers everybody and see y'all when the bus comes by next year!
I've been a part of this community for over 45 years and playing the thirty days since it started many years ago. Once again thanks David and the band for making this special treat available. Its a bright light every year in the dark and cold month of November! For me as for many here-the real magic is the journey-nosing thru my dead bases, going to the archive, discovering lost nuggets (of which there are too many to be counted or discover purely on my own). thanks also to the regulars who gave me hints every night-without you I'd be way behind...Sorry I couldn't chime in this year-somehow couldn't get my password reset to login until now...Once again thanks to all in this special community
Well, another year of 30 Days - so many tunes this year, something like 47! Anyway, you can download all of the 2019 30 Days tunes in a single zip file along with the cover art at DeadRoots.net. Not only that, but all of the previous 30 Days tunes back to the first edition back in 2010 are also available here:
See you all next year. Have a great holiday season and a wonderful 2020!
Nothing left to do but smile smile smile. Thanks all, it's been fun as usual. Don't forget to reach out if you want the tracking spreadsheet of all the 30 days for sorting, searching, and good ole reminiscing. I think we're going to make it available at deadroots.net so check it out there too.
