Hello I registered and then called they told me I needed a special promotional code ?? then I e mailed customer service then they told me you do not need a code and that on the 12 feb at 9:30 they AXS has a waiting room portal you go into then at 10 am they select 1 at a time to purchase a ticket I than asked about the cost $$ and I am waiting for their response?This seems all kind of weird for me I am use to calling mail order etc I missed mail order by 4 hours OMGanyways good luck tickets also on sale the 14 feb ticketmaster 10 am

Do you know if you can buy tickets for the Chicago shows on this site or any other site?

So here's the deal....50 years is sumpin....most of us want to be there....personally, I wouldn't miss it for the world, and am taking my son. So right off the bat, I got the plane tickets, and the hotel room...and then four days later did the mail order...maybe I'll get the tix, maybe not. Maybe the fan club pre-sale will work for me, maybe not...maybe ticketmaster will work, maybe not...maybe I'll do the VIP deal and skip the mortgage, maybe not...but it is THE show to get to, period. Here's a story for you on this peaceful Saturday night:...back in "the day" which was the probably in the 90's, when the only way to get tickets was mail-in or stand in line at Ticketmaster, I got to the only outlet in town at 7:30 am...they opened at 9:45 or so, tix went on sale at ten ...but we all knew that the ticket register went "live" a couple of minutes early...I at there in my lawn chair, feeling pretty smug, and dumb too, but smug, because I was the first in line and all...and when they opened the door, I ran over to the ticket outlet...I think the store was a sporting goods place, and selling tix was a sideline....and told the clerk, "I'll give you a ten-spot for every ticket you can punch out before 10 AM...they otta start showing tickets being available at 9:58, and then you start punching buttons, here's the cash". He said, "Really? We can't sell tickets before ten am...but it's my last day here anyway, so what the heck". The show was at Shoreline, and when the blank screen lit up, he started hammering away at the keyboard...I had a wad of cash and every-time he scored a ticket, I slapped down two twenties for the ticket and a ten spot for him...he hammered, I slapped...inside of three minutes I had one ticket for each day.,,and one was on row BBB, right in front. Later, when being escorted down to the seat for one of the shows, way way way down in front, I heard someone say..."he must know some-one, no way are those seats available for the public". All you can do is smile, smile smile.... Anyhow, best of luck to everyone. I hope you all get tickets, get a compfy place to stay, and join in the event of a lifetime for many of us. As Bill said many years ago, "They aren't just the best at what they do, they are the only ones who do what they do". And they'll be there this 4th of July weekend, doing it again...You gonna be there? Hope so...cheers and love to all!

this is one "trip" I can do without.First heard about it I was very excited but its playing out more like last time in Chicago 95..lol Every room within the distance of the Chicago train/transit system is over $270 a night(normal rates at same hotels is $125). The tickets are micky moused into a 3 tier ordering system thats proving dubious at best. Im sure the lots will open late and close early(this one im guessing) Any campgrounds in the region couldn't be seen from the willis (sears tower) with a telescope do to the curvature of the earth. Boy the promoter must of thrown a ton of money at them for this deal. When I hear of some of the venues/promoters that were bidding/negotiating with them(can any one say Bonaroo) to get this 3 night stand and to see them pick a busy city on a holiday weekend with none of the rooms necessary to hold the people who are going to go see it.... Haven't they been in this business for a while??? Then the press release promo crap...How fitting it is to go back where they last played? In a way there right on the mark...I will be just as bad as last time. That's a show I'd prefer to forget.. Reliving that one is nothing to celebrate.(and I'm not even a 95'Hater) Hope y'all have fun though :)

I understand the frustrations... I would say to anyone looking for rooms to check out condo rentals on flipkey, VRBO, and homeaway. There are still a few reasonable apt/condo rentals that are below $200/night. Thats how I beat the crazy prices. Got a tiny little studio today off the L line for about 130/night. If you spend the time, you can find a way. This isn't the Grateful Dead and I get that. Obviously, calling it a dead show is just marketing as the boys surely feel an obligation to do the shows for the 50th anniversary. I'm sure the price is right and the last show in Chicago is a perfect ending. They make a big buck while giving the fans some closure and an opportunity to all gather once more. I guess from how I see it, by calling it the Grateful Dead, they have raised the flags to call us home. One more Saturday night! Its not Further, Ratdog, Other Ones... What is left of the Dead will come together to play the songs we know and love. You will NEVER see a show like this again, ever! Never. (unless of course they decide to play a couple more shows later in the summer ;) I respect those who want to stay away because of the circus this has caused. I respect that they wanted to do the old school style of ticket ordering. Problem is, not many of us are old school anymore. Folks who were on the ball have a shot at getting the mail order tickets. Folks who have 4 computers set up with different usernames have a shot at getting pre-sale tickets. If you're not doing that, just know thats what you're up against with the majority of folks trying to score a tix. I don't blame you for not liking it BUT it is the world we live in. I was checking out Chicago's craigslist yesterday and I already found scalpers selling tickets to all 3 shows. Some were going well over 1600 bucks a pop! How did they do it?? Lets say they sent in 1000 mail order requests, each for 4 tickets to all 3 shows. Even if they have a 30% success rate, they will still get 1200 tickets. Lets say they are split between the premium ($215) and general ($95) so roughly an average ticket price of $150. They have 1200 tickets that cost them $150 bucks each, (total cost of $180k) but they turn around and sell the tickets for $750 each, (on average) with a total gross of $900k. I have no doubt they will sell out their quantity because there are too many folks willing to pay what it takes to get in. Thats how you make a mill off of some deadheads Myself... I've made a promise. If I don't get the mail orders or pre-sale... It wasn't meant to be. I'll just wait for the tape uploads and sit back on my back porch with some cold brews. I've already paid what I feel is my max to see this show. Hope we all get the tickets we need. Its going to be one hell of a celebration!!

Does anyone actually see anything about a presale on the axs website. I couldn't find any link where you would click to enter a waiting room. Only mention on there is 2/14 on sale date. No presale info at all (on the axs.com website). There is also mention of secret dead.net emails about a presale. So much to sift through with the bs detector

I find that hard to believe. Since they were closed yest. and its still 6 AM at their office. Not all the first day post marks were there from tues to sat. Give it a few days. Just my opinion, good luck to you

Just got my room booked for July 2nd - 6th in a little studio apartment right on the L train line. About a 30 min ride into downtown. Think they only have a couple of rooms left and I got 4 nights for around 500 bucks. Free cancelation so might as well book now and cancel if you can't get tickets. https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/16572925 Take a look at the listings on the left side. They are small studios that will sleep 2 or 3 folks. Let me tell you, I've been searching for over a week and you won't find a better location or price. Also, they just gave me a promo code that will give us both $25 bucks off our rental. "bbridges32" I'd say if you're thinking about it... Hurry up and do it! I emailed axs and got the generic fax. There is so much that is confusing. No one seems to want to post any info on a presale.

Fan Club address is listed on the back of the first record "Grateful Dead" from March 1967.I think it's pre zip-code.

Wow is right!! So it's been told they have received over 60,000 envelopes!! So for 61,500 seating obviously a bunch of folks will not be getting tickets from all available options!! If that's the case why bogart the online pre-sale tickets that you stated would be done?! I didn't see any stipulation you would cancel this part from overwhelming demand and since you're obligated to still do Ticketdisaster I'm really not happy you decided to cut out loyal fans from the online pre-sale process?! Why not still keep it as planned for us who couldn't do mail order yet you offered to still offer us a window which you now have abruptly closed! Folks now have no choice but to deal with Ticketmaster and scalpers, both bad choices!! So my fate, along with a bunch of other loyal heads, are now sealed and I'm really not happy about it! Sadly, it looks like I will not be going! But I'm grateful for all the real good years that taught me many a life lesson! DoDa Man

Thanks for the update on the mail order deluge. Am I totally naive, or is there any chance that GDTS TOO has the ability/inclination to try to weed out orders from those who are trying to "game the system" and reap a fat profit reselling tickets? Yeah, probably naive, but one can always hope . . .

In my experience, those folks are pretty darn conscientious. Good luck to them in dealing fairly and gracefully with the deluge!

Did you do mail order?

Hello All, As someone that never trusted the postoffice enough to do mail order, I was the guy that was always willing to show up and stand on line to buy tickets for the small group of friends I went to shows with. In keeping with that tradition, I looked at these shows the same way, unwilling to trust the postoffice with a pile of money, though I was and still am willing to stand on line, virtual or otherwise, to get tickets to these shows. With that said, I have to say I am in a state of shock to find out today that the "ticket purchasing rules" have been changed mid-dance. Given that the number of reported envelopes received is about the same as available seats and that many, if not all, of those envelopes will want more than one ticket per show, this is telling me that there will not be enough seats for the mail orders and that there will be no tickets remaining for any presale or public sale, with AXS or Ticketmaster. Granted, the powers that be can do anything they want to, but it really isn't right to exclude those of us that always stood on line to buy tickets, we paid for those tickets too. I won't buy from scalpers (and if I had an extra ticket because one of my friends couldn't make the show, I always gave it away for a smile), so it looks like these shows might be over for me before they even start. I sure hope no one waiting to get tickets via AXS or Ticketmaster has paid for any non-refundable airline tickets or hotels, which I was very close to doing myself. My guess would be that GDTS TOO received a certain allotment of tickets as did AXS and Ticketmaster. AXS appears to have been acting as an online arm of GDTS TOO, so because of the high mail order demand, they pulled the plug and will fulfill as many mail orders as possible. My hope is that somehow they are able to discern ticket brokers from regular folks. I bet at least 1/3 of these came from brokers. Ticketmaster still has its allotment of tickets to sell. No way any band can get booked at Soldier Field for a three night run and bypass Ticketmaster. So, if you didn't do mail order, you still have a shot at tickets. Just as many of us who did mail order will not get tickets, so too will many others who waited for online sales be shut out. Same as it has always been. I hope to get tickets somehow, but if not I was meant to have a splendid holiday weekend with the family.

Man, I have not felt like this since I was a kid in the early sixties, when I would mail off my 5 Frosted Flakes cereal box tops for that toy I just couldn’t do without, and would wait, wait, wait, with unbearable anxiety, every day, for that package to come in from Battle Creek, MI.

Estimated-eyes, I think you hit the nail on the head. I hope you're wrong about the brokers percentage-wise. That's precisely the reason why there is a GDTS or GDTS Too now, to make it a little bit of a process to do and, to have to commit money up front.(but if you like Black licorice).. Hopefully the brokers will find it easier to scalp Taylor-Swift. It's much better to do it this way and try to level the playing field. I can't compete with someone who has 20 buddies or employees with multiple logins, syphoning off sections at a time. with only 3 nationwide shows this was always a lottery at best. Even we who Mail Ordered should plan on Having our own July 5th celebration...But I hope to see you in Chicago. 0 0

I think everyone should take a breath and thank the fine folks at GDTS TOO. They have a huge task ahead which they might not have anticipated and I know they will be working hard to hand out as many miracles as possible. Although I have a pit in my stomach about not getting my tickets, I will go to Chicago regardless because I miss the community! My last show was there. I really hope that my last last show is there as well. So good luck to the staffers. You got this! Crank up some tunage and keep sorting!

Hello All, If the allotment of tickets available for mail order is indeed being changed after the fact, that too is simply not right. Had the process been disclosed, up front, as 100 percent mail order, we all would have done mail order and there would have been a level playing field. But, to change allotments and/or the presale and general sale after the fact, just because more mail orders arrived than anticipated, should not reduce non-mail order purchasers chances. Perhaps this should have been 100 percent mail order with every person having to send in their own individual order, with a one ticket per show limit, with the buyer's name printed on the tickets, and requiring ID that matches the name on the ticket for entry at Soldier Field. That would have also made scalping a lot tougher. If it is the case that "mail order will get allotted more tickets if demand is high", and that had been disclosed up front, I probably would have done mail order. But, it is simply not right to change any allotments after the process started. I vote to return everyone's mail order, unfulfilled, and start over with 100 percent mail order. Let's make this a fair process, rather than giving an unfair, after the fact advantage to mail orders. Just my 2 cents for the 2 tickets per show I would like to buy, for me and my wife. Well, at least gas will be cheap for travel! Whether or not I'll end up with a golden ticket? I echo other thoughts I've read. My mail order has been sent and however it might return, so be it. On the sofa with a strong aud recording and a few beers will make for wonderful summer evening reminisce. Regarding Chicago as the chosen local, I happened to be at the last show in '95. And if I was in the band, Soldier Field is exactly where I would also want to return for this final performance. After all, Jerry should be there as well. I can understand your frustration. but... the only way at this point for the band to get as many fans with tickets, and away from scalpers was to provide as many mail order tickets as possible. TM is going to be scalpermaster>stub hub. Not sure exactly what the axs presale was going to get us. It would have been the same scalpers as TM, just 2 days early. The presale was bs IMHO. Unless they did a true fan pre-sale of some sort, I think your best bet (if shut out of TM) is to hope someone gets extra by mail order and takes care of a real fan like you and your wife. I will keep my ears out, and hope it works out in the end for you. Sounds like your due.

So I just found out that the presale has been cancelled. Super bummed out about this! Just figured that there would be 3 equal ways to get tickets in the upcoming weeks. I have mail ordered plenty of times before, know exactly how to do it & have had success many times. But I have also gone the online route with equal if not better success. So I figured I would bypass the mailorder & try my luck with the online tickets again, at the same time giving myself enough time to get all of my ducks in a row. Well looks like I made the wrong decision, and will have to try my luck with Ticketmaster or pray for an online stream. This would have all been nice to know before the fact, I would have mailordered for sure. I feel like this is not a very fair move from the Dead organization.With that being said, I wish all of you who did mailorder the best of luck. Those who get tickets will have an epic weekend in Chicago. Enjoy!!!

We did the mailorder again but only for the 4th & 5th with the hopes of getting a nosebleed cheap seat for the 3rd to save some cash, at least I won't have to use a personal day, NSA abduction, or "burning kitten orphanage rescue" story to be part of a presale now

Many of us and our friends will not be able to attend the shows due to a variety of reasons. (likely not for lack of trying) My friends and I had never made it to a New Years show but enjoyed the pay per view show together before You Tube existed. I would like to think they will live web stream the shows(professionally) for us that don't make it. I suspect many of us really need to be a part of these shows to help complete our lives. I left that Sunday night 20 years ago and never thought it would be my/the last show. Until this was announced I did not realize how important it was to me to get together with my friends and to say goodbye. If it helps any the figure of 61,500 seats is for football seating and does not include the field. I am guessing there is another 6000+ seats on the field. I think EVERYONE should have a chance to be a part of these shows and to say Fare Thee Well.

Now in my 60s I need to be ready for the future and take care of business at home. In the early 70s I was the child of innocence amazed at the wonder of this cutting edge band. So elder dead-heads help those who may be young, innocent and searching for the meaning of life, perhaps in the form of this timeless music. Protect them and set the positive example of kindness and refuge from a real mean world. "If there's a poor boy on the street, let him have my seat". "That path is for.. your steps alone". ""Ooo baby baby it's a wild world and it's hard to get by with just a smile girl". I have deep memories of the last lyric while on my way to Table Mountain on the night of July 3, 1972 Colorado. All those who wander are not lost.

I called the only outlet in my town to get tickets through ticketmasta' , i called them about waiting in line amd where peoplw normally wait. Theu said they open doors at 10am, amd i was like i get that. The whole concepts of camping out and waiting for tickets the good ole way, was complete foreign to them. They said they allow no camping and would let people on the property in am..So i said 12:01 am, she well ok but you cant go to sleep?? Well the is very unsettling, it doesnt sound like i will be able to get in line early enougg to get tickets. I believe if your not one of first ten people in line theres no way. I read on internet and ticketmaster is known for selling outconcerts within in minutes. I must say i havent been so excited since 95', at that time i had being seeing dead for about 10yrs and thought when i got shut out of shows , it was no biggy there be more, but a few days later my mind was blown. Shortly after i saw "the dead" which is basically what we are talkibg about. I guess being 50 yrs and last time is big difference. I live in il. And we be up there, i plan on leaving my problems behind and seeing my fellow brothers and sisters.. I need to go after all the hype, but ticketmaster will sellout within 10min or less.. I swallowed my pride and will plop down money to get in if mail order doesnt work. Sound like only a frenzy the good ole GD could cause, nice to be reconnected, after having kids and holding on for dear life. I know longer see shows or too many concerts, probably a hand full after 95' im knew to this sight, new to mail order, but not new to the happiness and beauty the parking lot and watching the boys have fun smiling and put it down for all of us. Im going to leave kids at home for this one and hope to see you all there, especially friemds from cali!

40 years ago my sister had me convinced that Jerry was singing Anne Marini(her name), instead of Anne Marie and been hooked ever since. I'll shed a tear if i'm lucky enough through mail order or listening remotely, whatever. Jerry lives in the heart. It's a space in mind, good luck y'all.

Indeed, huge shout out to those folks at GDTS TOO. They have a crazy couple of weeks ahead of them sorting through so many orders the old school way. I appreciate their efforts. Someone said it right-- with only three shows, this was always a lottery ticket. Let's hope lots of Dead Heads get their hands on these tickets.

Just my two cents, even though it is contrary to many of the postings that are here - I really hope that GDTS TOO, to maximize distribution amongst us, begins with distribution of single day tickets, even to those requesting multiple days. Many, many, many of us - due to finances, family, jobs - can only afford to ask for one day, and humbly did so. I think that GDTS TOO should distribute as many tix as possible to those who have requested, one day at a time per customer/envelope, then after that if additional remain, address those who asked for an additional one or two nights. I would really hate to think that thousands of us who requested one night loose out while thousands who requested 2 & 3 nights made it, somewhat at our expense. This is not like the 'good old days' where if you missed, you missed, and would catch them again later - this is a one time event. Again, just my input from my perspective; it's just that SO many folks here and on all the other boards are talking about having requested all three nights! I mean - one guy goes all three nights, or three of us goes three different nights.....?

Hi Jim, My guess is that they will take all the envelopes postmarked Jan 20th first, and that have all been filled out correctly and handle those first regardless of how many tickets and for how many nights they are requesting (it's supposed to have been only up to 4 per night per envelope.) As they get to each envelope, they would see if they can fill the specific request in the envelope - which, in some cases will probably filled for some nights requested but not for others. I can't see them prioritizing requests for less tickets over requests for more. I think it is much more likely that requests for less tickets will come up randomly along with requests for more tickets with each envelope given the same "lottery" type chances to be gotten to before others.
