So glad you made it... Welcome to the updated Dead.net! If you've been around for a while, you should find your familiar haunts much as you left them, though some of them may be in slightly different locations.
If you're joining us for the first time, we're delighted to see you! We invite you to just poke around and make yourselves at home.
A few possibilities:
-Tape trading (digital and otherwise)
- In Search Of (tickets! stuff! music! etc.!)
- The Ride Board (useful touring resource)
- All About My Band (the one you're playing in)
If you need a bit of navigational assistance, post here or send me (marye) a PM and we'll try to help!

I'm listening to Dick's Pick Vol. 13 (5/6/81) for the first time in a long time and Disc 2 has the wrong track listing in the liner notes. There's a Scarlet -> Fire on the Mountain on the disc, but is't not listed. DeadBase 50 also doesn't list a Scarlet -> Mountain for this concert, but it's on my Disc 2. Can anyone explain?

They were included as filler, undisclosed on the liner notes as a sort of "hidden track" -- pretty hot

Old site used to show our comments on the products; sometimes we were stupid, mostly we were helpful to each other, but now that's gone? Boo.

EDIT: I mean, I see the forum threads on products that existed prior to the new site launch, but what about commenting on the new socks, or door mat, or that sweet wool blanket -- how do we do that?

This is a GREAT site. Created a New account and missed the first 10 Days of 30. Is there a way to get these or are they gone until next time?

Thanks!

Hey Now!
Been quite a while since I stumbled and fell in here, but it's nice to be back! I seem to recall there used to be a section where members could list the shows they attended, but now I can't seem to locate it. Was that ever a thing, or just a dream I dreamed one afternoon long ago?
Thanks!

Welcome back, hope you're good. Yeah, I think there was a 'My Shows' tab at one time. It seems like it and a few other things have gone by the wayside with the website re-vamp. One thing I'm puzzled by is why they removed the 'track' feature to follow other users when you're online, and why are all the shows are off by a day when viewing them in list view?

Hello all... Checking back in on the new site. I see the "DISCOGRAPHY" section is still under construction... I am anxious to see the initial offering there, and to network with a few other obsessed collectors about some "Mythical Vinyl" questions, such as:
- Was there ever a US Stock Copy of the "One More Saturday Night" & "Cassidy" 45 record?
- Has anyone ever seen the alleged release of "Razooli" & "Happiness is Drumming" 45 from the Diga Rhtyhm Band?
- Radio Spots 7" for Anthem of the Sun?
As more of a general comment, the new site is very Flashy & Professional looking, I just hope it does not lose the greater community connection in favor of a merchandising outlet.
And speaking of merchandising.... Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Seasons Greetings, etc. etc. etc. - from your old pal Way out West.

Please bring back the "My Shows" feature. My memory is failing and it took a long time to piece together the past.
It is not a data intensive/storage issue? So what gives?

I also worked hard to put that together the My Shows list. I guess it's gone.... I am still in the camp of not liking the changes. Especially with the comments no longer being listed under the for sale page of the specific product release. You now have to take a much longer route and effort to find the comments. I won't even bother trying to find it from my cell phone. And in turn people are most definitely posting way less. And over the years I bought so many of the products because of all the postings. This has to hurt sales a bit. I believe the intentions were good in redesigning the site but it has thinned the community.

is there any way to search by year? paging through 234 pages is not efficient. it seems like it existed in the old format, and also in the new format originally.

Same question with shows by venue,

I'm a British Deadhead. First show was Wembley April 1972. Next was Bickershaw 7th May 72. I turned 18 at midnight and the Dead were playing Lovelight! I'm still 18 as a result.
Question: That night the Dead played Dark Star, PITB, Trucking and The Other One. Did that ever happen before or since?

How many shows did someone have to perform in in order to be considered a band member? Seems to me that Bruce Hornsby should be included in your band member profiles.

I finally figured how to get back on dead.net
I've been a-missin' since the new rebuild mid-October 2018.
Many thanks to marye for her hard work around here.

Marye definitely deserves credit for the job that's been done. I'd imagine quite a few hours of work went into setting it up. As a web designer hobbyist myself, I also bet they spent a lot of time migrating the info from the old site over to this one.

One thing I really like about the new theme is how clean it feels. There's no spam, pop up banners or other nonsense cluttering up the page. Will be fun to see if we can revitalize this forum and bring it back to its former glory :)

Hi, can anyone work out how to order the 2 Road Trip vinyl releases from Amazon.com if you are outside the US? Apparently you can only buy them through the Amazon Music App in the US, and to have the App you need a US IP address. Yet they say they can post to the UK. Feels a bit like Catch 22.

Who here is alive today because of the Grateful Dead?

When I first got introduced to the Grateful Dead, I was in an extremely volatile mindset, ready to leave this world. I always loved music but it wasn’t until Let It Grow, where I heard the line “Black dirt live again!” and I don’t know what it was but the music the connection to how I felt like even less than black dirt, ignited some sort of fire in me. I got on the bus and I never looked back. That is why I am posting this because I was just a teenager when listening to them the first time and I have lived to be 51 years of age and I am glad I found the Grateful Dead, they’re literally why I exist today.

    Infrared Roses on Vinyl?

I'm very pleased that almost the entire back catalog and many shows are being released on vinyl.
However, there's still one record missing, and I'm eagerly awaiting it: INFRARED ROSES. The division (I have the CD) into four themes is perfect for a double LP. I hope it comes out soon and hasn't been forgotten.
    Best regards, Matthias
