And we’re looking for a little help from our friends… We're back! Or at least we're thinking about it... By popular demand we are in the process of determining the feasibility of publishing a new edition of DeadBase and are looking for some help. While a totally revised DBXII is still a possibility for the future, right now we are considering putting out a reprint of DBXI with an appendix of corrections and additions to the setlists. While we are looking into the logistics of printing and distribution (can you say Amazon?) we are putting the word out to gather missing data. That’s where you come in. We know that folks have found errors in the setlists since the last version of DeadBase came out in 1999, and we want to include a list of corrections in the new book. All proposed changes will be reviewed and evaluated, and contributors will be acknowled

A revival of Deadbase- Yes! My DeadBase is so worn, I would love to have the opportunity to buy a new edition. The fact it will be updated with set list corrections is like a bunch of sweet cherries on the grateful sundae. I also hope dead.net broadcasts the news if, or when it's available. Thanks for all your efforts

    Hey, Stu Nixon!
Are you guys gonna do this or what? I think a limited edition of 10,000 copies would be about right. The dead.net store could carry it. Amazon could carry it and it could sell retail in probably 50 select locations across the country -- including in crispy Brattleboro, VT, near to where some of you guys live, I think. That way you don't use extra paper that will never be treasured. I still have my 1995 DeadBase Jr. with the inserts of the 1995 shows, but it sits in a zip-lock baggy with the pages reproduced at a local copy shop. In my edition (strictly for myself, mind you) the second page has trippy script that says: "This is all a dream we dreamed one afternoon, long ago". DeadBase rocks! We want a new one and we want it now!

Personally, when it comes down to it. I just absorb ALOT more when I have the actual book, or pages to unfold, in front of me. Thanks!_____________________________________________ Will you come with me? Once in awhile you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right!

I would love it. I have DB X and I love it. It has helped me immeasurably, when I am trying to do research on a show or just making labels for my CD. Plus it is cool to read the reviews.

I just checked out the website for Deadbase and while it is user-friendly enough for most folks, I would still love for a new Deadbase to come out on recycled paper.

I can think of hundreds of additions that could be included in a new addition. The only problem would be deciding what not to include. IE:- Photos, Photos and more Photos (While I enjoyed the last edition's extensive '95 tour spread, I think it is time for some historic photo documentation throughout our long strange trip) - Complete Jerry Base - Complete Phil Base - Complete Ratdog Base - Well lets face it, complete everybody Base - More venue charts - Statistics out the wazoo - Include available recordings of each show - Hell, I would even welcome envelope art and other Deadhead artwork submittals - Etc, Etc.

My copy of DEADBASE VI is pretty rough with a cracked spine and all pencil marked up with my notes. A new edition is in order. My favorite section apart from the set lists themselves is the review section near the back of the book. John, Stu, Mike and others give a fly on the wall view of many classic and obscure shows. I spent many hours pouring over this book, often while recording shows off the radio (manly WNEW and WBAI both in NYC)-you can identify just about any Dead show as long as you have a few songs in a row with this book. An amazing resource! Thanks guys.David
