Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have some fine Spring Grateful Dead music from 1986, 1988, and 1993.
Our first selection this week is the entire first set from opening night of a three night run at the Providence Civic Center on 3/30/86 in Providence, RI, where we have Hell In A Bucket ; Sugaree ; El Paso ; Cumberland Blues ; Tons Of Steel ; C C Rider ; Dupree's Diamond Blues ; Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues ; Deal.
Next is one of my favourite post-Drums sequences from the later 1980s, from a terrific show on 3/31/88 at Brendan Byrne Arena at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ, featuring Space > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad > I Need A Miracle > Dear Mr. Fantasy > Hey Jude > All Along The Watchtower, Knockin' On Heaven's Door.
Last this week is the start of the second set from a cold, rainy night in Albany, NY, on 3/29/93, a show that happened to be my penultimate Grateful Dead show, featuring Here Comes Sunshine ; Looks Like Rain ; Box Of Rain > He's Gone.
Be sure to join us here next week with more music from the vault.

good choices
That GDTRFB out of Space from Meadowlands is wild. Pretty sure it's part of the Road Trips series. Not sure I've heard the '86 stuff in a while, but the '93 Here Comes Sunshine was included as part of the 30 Days of Dead guessing game. Jerry was reinvigorated a bit in '93, making for some pretty good shows. 8-22 is good, as is 3-27 (30 Trips). There are a bunch more '93 gems flying under the radar. Thanks Dead.net!
P.S. Dissolving bikes and fire hydrants.
Indeed, hearty selections!
Went on 4/1/88 but nice to hear the night before for the first time, Hampton, Brendan Byrne and Little Red Wooster on this tour was fun.
