Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where we roll into August and past Jerry’s birthday with some terrific Grateful Dead music from 1969, 1972, and 1982.
Our first stop this week is on 4/17/69 in St. Louis where we have this variation on the Live/Dead sequence, where rather than The Eleven, they drop It’s A Sin into the middle of St. Stephen: Dark Star > St Stephen > It's a Sin > St Stephen> Turn On Your Love Light.
Next is the big second set sequence from the fifth show of the Europe ’72 tour, played a tiny university cafeteria in Aarhus, Denmark on 4/16/72, featuring Truckin'> Jam > Truckin' Reprise > Jam > The Other One Jam > Me And My Uncle > The Other One > Not Fade Away > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad > Not Fade Away.
Lastly this week is the start of the second set from 4/12/82 at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY, where we have Man Smart (Woman Smarter) > Sugaree ; Estimated Prophet > Uncle John's Band.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
