Week of December 30, 2019-January 5, 2020
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, as we end 2019 and begin 2020 with more music from the Grateful Dead’s vault, this week featuring tunes from 1979, 1983, and 1991.
Our first stop this week is at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where we have the start of the show featuring Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo > Franklin's Tower ; Mama Tried> Mexicali Blues; Peggy-O; Cassidy.
From four years later, on 9/4/83 at Red Rocks, we have the start of the second set, featuring Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain; Man Smart (Woman Smarter).
Lastly this week, we have the entire first set from 9/6/91, the final night of the three night run at Richfield Coliseum near Cleveland to open the excellent Fall Tour of 1991, where we have Feel Like A Stranger ; Bertha ; Wang Dang Doodle ; Peggy-O ; Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues ; It's All Over Now ; Bird Song.
