    Sound system in Fall 1976

I wonder if the band had 2 sound systems, leap-frogging from one venue to another. 9/30 Columbus, 10/1 Indy, 10/2 Cinci, then 10/3 Detroit. Quite a 4 night run!

Week of February 10-16, 2020

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1976, 1980, and 1984.

Our first selection this week is first set music, plus the first song of the second set, from the penultimate show of the Fall Tour of 1976, from 10/2/76 in Cincinnati. This was a return to arenas after the Dead’s excellent theatre tour of June 1976. From Cincinnati we have New Minglewood Blues ; Row Jimmy ; El Paso ; Tennessee Jed ; It's All Over Now ; Brown Eyed Women ; Let It Grow > Might As Well, start set 2-Music Never Stopped.

Next is the end of the third set from 10/3/80 from the Warfield in San Francisco, where we have The Wheel > Playing In The Band > Black Peter > Good Lovin', Brokedown Palace.

Lastly this week is the excellent first set from 10/5/84 in Charlotte, NC, where we have Bertha>Promised Land; West L.A. Fadeaway ; Little Red Rooster ; Dupree's Diamond Blues; My Brother Esau; Brown Eyed Women; Feel Like A Stranger; Might As Well.

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
