Week of February 24-March 1, 2020
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out some music from 1960s, 1980s, and 1990s.
Our first selection is from 10/13/68 at the Avalon in San Francisco, where we have a variation on the Live/Dead suite, featuring Dark Star> Saint Stephen> The Eleven > Death Don't Have No Mercy.
Next is the start of the second set from the excellent from at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY, where we have Shakedown Street> Samson And Delilah ; He's Gone > Smokestack Lightnin' > Jam. This was one of the first tapes I received when I started tape trading, and I know it very well.
Lastly this week is the start of the second set from 10/14/94 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where we have Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain ; Looks Like Rain ; Samba In The Rain ; Corrina. This was the Dead’s final run at MSG.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

Audio not working
Is anyone else having a problem with the taper audio not playing?

Smokestack and Lovelight played at the same show, first time since 72 I think.
The Dome was so big they set up in the middle of floor, by far the largest indoor venue I think they played. Fun show Bird Song > Jack Straw to close first set was smoking. One of my Favorite Shakedown's.
