Also a Watchtower Tease this night
We were on the risers at the back of the floor for this show and yes they were going up and down a good six inches to a foot for Gimme Some and Sugar Mags. This was a Tuesday night show and a welcome back to MSG for Jerry and we were off in the MSG space ship for a great 87 run of 5. The energy from the stage and the crowds in 87 was off the charts, Hampton first night, Alpine first night and this night and Friday night at MSG were insane. Let me lay beneath the "doses" and my eyes no longer see..........

    Sing along
This is a very high energy show. I had not listened to the aud version till this morning. Many a show at MSG the crowd sings along but this night wow they were really into it. I do not remember it that way while roaming and dancing the halls this night but wow the ENERGY is off the charts. Having been to every show for years and years this set list would not grab me like the energy does. If you get the chance check it out will post it here. Hopefully not upsetting the powers to be by doing so.

I travelled all the way from England to see my first show and it was amazing! Once we got to MSG it felt like everyone knew some sort of secret that I wasn't in on. The first set wasn't 'magic' until the jam in The Music Never Stopped. I was stone cold sober and was blown away by the jam, it just kept spiraling upwards until it reached a place I didn't think was possible. During the break I was on the most amazing natural high I'd ever been on. Imagine my surprise when the second set took off with the same energy and continued all the way through to the end of the show! There was just one song I hoped they'd play and low and behold they did it! 'So glad you made it' welcomed me in. Wow. I'll never forget it! I had a dream of how amazing the experience might be and it was so much bigger than what I was able to imagine that it blew my dream apart! Thank you :)

I was at this show and I think it's vastly underrated. Although the song selection isn't really special, there wasn't a bum note or missed lyric in the entire second set, and as we all know, that was pretty rare (Jerry did invert two verses in China Cat).

THERE HAS ONLY BEEN A FEW BANDS TO MAKE THE STANDS MOVE DURING A SONG IN MSG AND THE GRATEFUL DEAD AND GIMME SOME LOVIN' WAS ONE OF THEM!!! I WAS STANDING STILL AND THE MOMENTUM WAS PUSHING ME UP AND DOWN!! GREAT SHOW!! THE OTHER BANDS WERE GEORGE HARRISON AND PEARL JAM.
