Week of August 31-September 6, 2020

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from early in three separate decades: the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.

Our first selection is first set material from 3/23/72 at the Academy Of Music in New York City during the Dead’s week-long run there prior to traveling to London to start the Europe ’72 tour. From this fine show we have China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider ; Black Throated Wind ; Chinatown Shuffle ; Brown Eyed Women ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Cumberland Blues ; Looks Like Rain ; Mr. Charlie ; Tennessee Jed ; El Paso ; You Win Again.

Next is the excellent second set opening sequence from the final night of the Dead’s first four night run at the Rainbow Theatre in London of 1981, from 3/24/81, where we have Shakedown Street; Lost Sailor> Saint Of Circumstance> He's Gone.

Lastly this week is the terrific first set from 3/22/90 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, where we have Feel Like A Stranger, West L.A. Fadeaway, Easy To Love You, Beat It On Down The Line, It Must Have Been The Roses, The Last Time, Picasso Moon, Don't Ease Me In.

Be sure to join us next week for more music from the vault.
