    86 RFK

    Those were some brutal shows...I was on the pitchers mound for the last one, incidentally right before Jerry went dark for a while...The He's Gone is prophetic.

    @Schoney RFK '86

    I agree Schoney!

    Some good stuff happening at RFK '86.
    Think this is the only portion of the SBD from this show that has circulated to date.
    DL turned me on to this in May 2017 via Taper's Section and it blew me away.

    Same drop outs throughout. I patched it awhile back so I could jam on it.
    Based on the set list and the fact it's '86 right before Jerry goes into his coma, I probably wouldn't of noticed this little gem.

    Gotta love the Taper's Section, Thanks DL!

    This RFK 86 is AMAZING. Sound is awesome however there are several times throughout the segment that the music cuts out for 2 seconds. David, is there any way to fix that and re-post it?
    Thank you so much regardless!

Week of January 4-10, 2021

Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1969, 1984, and 1986.

Our first selection this week is from 7/3/69 in Colorado Springs, CO, where we have a double dose of Pigpen sandwiched around one of the best versions of He Was A Friend Of Mine that I’ve ever heard: Hard To Handle ; He Was A Friend Of Mine ; Turn On Your Lovelight.

Next is the end of the first set and start of the second set, including the first of three performances of Scarlet>Touch, from 6/29/84 at Blossom Music Center in Ohio, where we have Hell In A Bucket ; West L.A. Fadeaway ; The Music Never Stopped > Don't Ease Me In, Scarlet Begonias>Touch Of Grey.

Lastly this week is the start of the second set from 7/6/86 at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC, the Dead’s first appearance there since 6/10/73. From this show we have Saint Of Circumstance ; Iko Iko ; Looks Like Rain ; He's Gone.

Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.
