Week of May 24-30, 2021
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from three distinct periods in the band’s history, 1972, 1984, and 1994.
Our first selection is from the opening night of an outstanding three night run at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis on 10/17/72, where we have second set music featuring Ramble On Rose ; Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo ; Sugar Magnolia ; Not Fade Away > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad > Not Fade Away.
Next up is the start of the second set from 10/20/84 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY, where we have this excellent sequence of Shakedown Street> Samson And Delilah; He's Gone > Smokestack Lightnin'> Jam.
Lastly this week we have the start of the second set from the Dead’s penultimate show at Madison Square Garden on 10/18/94, featuring Iko Iko ; Samba In The Rain ; He's Gone > Smokestack Lightnin' > Truckin'. We hope you don’t mind two He’s Gone>Smokestacks this week.
Be sure to join us here next week for more music from the vault.

Wrong link
The third link does not go to the show advertised, but I think I recall hearing it before. It's the one with "If The Shoe Fits."
Links in Tapers seem to not…
Links in Tapers seem to not be working. Don’t take me to the tunes anymore.
