Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we’ll check out Grateful Dead music spanning more than 20 years, from 1969, 1973, and 1990.
Our first selection is the classic Live/Dead sequence minus a key component, with Doin’ That Rag replacing Dark Star in the opening slot, from 2/22/69 in Vallejo, CA: Doin' That Rag> St. Stephen> The Eleven > Turn On Your Love Light> Drums > Turn On Your Love Light.
Next is the second set jam sequence from 2/21/73 in Champaign-Urbana, IL, on the winter tour of the Midwest, featuring Truckin' > Eyes Of The World > Stella Blue.Lastly this week the end of the show from the first show of 1990, on 2/25/90 in Oakland, CA, where we have this classic sequence from the era: Space > The Wheel > Gimme Some Lovin' > Wharf Rat > Sugar Magnolia.

I need to put the headphones on. In the Eyes, I could swear I heard 4 part harmony, both Donna and Phil in there. And the 1990 Gimme Some Lovin' was a way better rendition than some I've heard. Brent gives a Bobby style off mike yell and Jerry goes off fanning the guitar!
Cheers
