Nice Artwork.
Fantastic artwork, looks like the same artist who did the 78 Red Rocks box and the Marvel comics.
Artwork
I don't know that I get why a reworking of Bocklin's "Isle of the Dead" (which inspired Rachmaninoff's composition of the same name) was chosen as artwork for the songs on this 7" in particular, but it's an attractive cover in any case. I think the Rachmaninoff piece and TMNS are both in A major (?).
7" singles...what are they?
Hey now! I just bought a new turntable and I'm interested in these 7" singles. Can someone explain what they are? Is it worth buying, just for the artwork etc..
Great North and those 45's
For several years in a row the Dead organization was re-issuing the 45's the band put out over the years. They re-issued them all over a 4(?) year period. The art was nice, not sure how they sound since I've never played them, but they did come with a digital download. I got them because they were fairly cheap and I thought they were neat. (not as neat as the axe!!! Damn I should have gotten one!!!!)
7" singles...Thx Dennis
Dennis, I appreciate your input on those 45's. Do they come in a small (45 size) album sleeve, like 33rpm albums?
Great North and the 45's
They don't come in heavy cardboard like an LP, but the come in an index card type stock. Nice "envelope" with nice art work. They also have the number/of number printed on each.
They were nicely done.
