As an American on the outside looking in I am privileged with a unique perspective. Because I work in science and medicine my friends and colleagues come from every corner of the world. This rising tide was based on trust first and the rule of law second-in my opinion. We were never perfect but our arc was always in the right direction and for the world we represented the shining city on the hill and above all hope. This is all gone. There is no trust and the rule of law is now a joke. How do we get back what we have lost? Trust us; it will be different this time? The world is realigning out of fear and confusion. China is playing the good guy. No I don't think we can get it back. It took decades to build and 6 years to tare down. It is the new world order and for no defensible reason. How can we be trusted to act in the worlds best interest when we don't do so for ourselves. 30% is a large number and delusional or not they can and did do this.
