Week of October 27-November 2, 2025
Welcome back to the Tapers’ Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1970, 1978, and 1989, three distinct and excellent periods in Dead history.
Our first stop this week is on 2/8/70 at the Fillmore West, with the reel of tape cutting off before China Cat gets to Rider: Smokestack Lightnin', Morning Dew, Dire Wolf, Me And My Uncle, Sittin' On Top Of The World, China Cat Sunflower.
Next is music from Milwaukee on 2/4/78, with this great second set sequence as the Dead head unto Drums: Dancing In The Street> Terrapin Station> Playing In The Band.
Lastly this week is first set music from 2/7/89, the final show at the Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center in Oakland, with Just A Little Light ; Standing On The Moon ; Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again ; Bird Song, including two brand news songs to start out.
Be sure to join us next week for more music from the vault.

Catching Up
Missed this trio last week as I was out of town.
Pitzburg Felt Forum reminded me of a missed 1970's cut and this show starts with one of my favorites, Smokestack Lightning! There's a riff in there that reminds me of New Speedway Boogie. Onward!
Cheers
Brent messing with the Maxwell House Coffee ditty at the start of Stuck Inside of Mobile, lol.
So nice when the answer is already here
Yesterdays 30 dod 2025 confirmation . A snippet from the show featured. Incredible " Stuck inside of Mobile". Anyone know of any hotter versions with Bobby's vocals maxing out? Oh, Mama, can this really be the end.
