    Ice Palace
The Ice Palace was an old ice skating rink in a shopping center located on the south side of East Charleston (possibly East Sahara - it's been a long time & I haven't lived in Vegas since 1971) between Maryland Parkway & Eastern. If I recall correctly, there were some other big shows there in 1969, including Led Zeppelin.

    Being a Vegas Local these
Being a Vegas Local these shows are sorta special to me,Even the three one night stands at the Aladdin during the early 80's. The one thing I cannot seem to get figured out is: Where The Hell Was The Ice Palace Located??? I work in the casino's with some old timer's that make Bugsy seem young and none of them even have a clue where the Ice Palace was. I'm betting on the Old Ice Skating Rink between Vegas and Henderson. SOMEONE PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG .....OR RIGHT.....I just want an answer...... We saw lots of shows at the ice palace, didn't see the dead show, too bad. I didn't really know who they were back then. The ice palace was in the Comercial Shopping Center on E Sahara and Maryland Pkwy. Went skating there, too. Cool place for the desert.

It was a skating rink on Sahara just before Maryland parkway in the Commercial Center. They would lay down wooden boards to cover the Ice rink.I saw many shows there. This Dead show was my first and Morning Dew was the best live version I ever heard.I remember it like it was yesterday. Man I really miss the days of peace and love where there were no guns,no violence, just people getting together and having a great time. Peace my brother The Dude

The Ice Palace was a ice skating rink in the Commercial Center on the corner of Sahara and Maryland Parkway. They would put boards over the ice and they had bleacher seats as well.No assigned seating. That was my first concert I was 15 and I remember "Morning Dew" like it was yesterday, the best live version I ever heard.
