A good friend of mine is turning 30 tomorrow, and she has eschewed the want of material gifts, and so I have made a 30-song mix to celebrate the beginning of her 30s. The first song of the mix is the opening tune to the Flaming Lips's 'At War with the Mystics'--"The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song"--and I haven't been able to get the song out of my head since.

    today, it's Robert Hunter.
Specifically "Touch of Darkness," which happens to be the first song I heard him sing live, so I've got visuals to go with it. This is all because a long-lost pal from the olden days was looking for it, which forced me to go see if I had it. But the net result of the search is that Hunter is singing in my brain. I could do worse!
