    Springfield '72
A great example of the unique 72 approaches to jamming into Morning Dew. Lovely, stately, relaxed, detailed and finely wrought Dew, everyone is listening everyone is responding, wish I had been there!

Welcome back to our mid-July installment of the Tapers' Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1978, 1978 and 1980.

Our first selection this week is the big jam from the second set of 10/2/72 in Springfield, MA, the show that closed the first leg of the excellent Fall Tour of 1972: Truckin'>Nobody's Jam>Drums>Jam>Morning Dew, Sugar Magnolia/, encore: Uncle John's Band, Johnny B. Goode.

From the last night of a three night in Chicago in the winter of 1978, from 2/1/78 we have the end of the show, featuring The Other One>Wharf Rat>Sugar Magnolia, Around and Around.

Our last selection this week is the start of the second set from 5/29/80 in Des Mines, IA, featuring Feel Like A Stranger, Ship Of Fools, Estimated Prophet>Eyes Of The World.

Be sure to stop in next week for more tunes from the vault.

i clicked on 10/2/72, and am getting 5/29/80 instead (in des Mines, in des Mines, where the sun sometimes shines). love the typos I see on this. ("to an excellent well"...) when you have nothing better to do, if you could fix that, it would be tre cool. is that you marye?

July 14 - July 20, 2014 selection 1 seems to be selection 3; selection 2 seems to be selection 1; selection 3 seems to be old news from last week July 7 - July 13, 2014. (Lastly this week is the final music ever played by the Grateful Dead at Ventura County Fairgrounds, on 6/14/87: Truckin' > Wharf Rat > Throwing Stones > Not Fade Away Encore The Mighty Quinn (Quinn The Eskimo).) from last week July 7 - July 13, 2014. I found this so confusing I am not sure I untangled it.

I'm getting the third link not working and the first two fine. These files got updated a bit late this morning due to the proverbial technical difficulties. I'm reporting this anyway...
