Such a thrill to hear 'Ship Of Fools' played in concert for the first time. Good listening to 'China Doll,' 'Playing In The Band' and 'Drums' from 3-2-81 at Cleveland, Ohio. What a way to close out the week with songs from San Diego 2-19-82: 'Space,' 'The Other One,' 'Johnny B. Goode' and 'U.S. Blues.' I'm still Rockin!

    2.19.82 Johnny B. Goode
Very nice combo with Man Smart (Woman Smarter). Interesting selection at the end of the tape. After US Blues for a minute or so. A few weeks ago on the 84 tape it was Huey Lewis, I think.

1st Ship of Fools + 3.2.81 Playin Jam is fantastic
1st Ship of Fools, any opinions on this, I like the 1st Ship of Fools performance better than the 2.24.74 performance? Break out Dave's 13 if you got it and compare. I remember a lot of people posted their own review and most included the Ship of Fools as a highlight.

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have music from 1974, 1981 and 1982

Our first stop this week is on 2/22/74, the first show of 1974, at Winterland in San Francisco. From the end of the first set into the start of the second set we have Playing In The Band, Tennessee Jed, Me and My Uncle, Ship Of Fools, The Race Is On, China Cat Sunflower>I Know You Rider. That's the first ever performance of Ship Of Fools.

Next is second set music from 3/2/81 in Cleveland, featuring Ramble On Rose ; Playing In The Band > China Doll > Playing In The Band Jam > Drums.

Lastly this week, from a year later on 2/19/82 in San Diego, we have the end of the show featuring Space > The Other One > Stella Blue > Man Smart (Woman Smarter) > Johnny B. Goode, U.S. Blues, including a rare post-Drums Man Smart. I'm always a fan of songs when they get played out of their usual spot in the show format.

Be sure to join is here next week for more music from the vault.
