Such a sad song , but gives my heart joy to hear it... As a side note , Norma Waterson covered this a few years ago, I will have to dig out my copy of Landover 14/3/90 from the box set and give it some further attention.

Welcome back to the Tapers' Section, where this week we have Grateful Dead music from 1973, 1987 and 1988.

Our first stop this week is on 9/17/73 in Syracuse, NY, where we have a big batch of first music: Tennessee Jed ; Me And My Uncle ; They Love Each Other ; Beat It On Down The Line ; Sugaree ; Mexicali Blues ; Loser ; Looks Like Rain ; Row Jimmy ; Jack Straw ; Loose Lucy ; You Ain't Woman Enough ; El Paso.

Next up, from9/15/87 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, we have the start of the second set, featuring a typical sequence from the era (and a very well-played sequence!): China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider, Estimated Prophet > Eyes Of The World.

Lastly this week is the end of the second set from 9/8/88 at the Phildelphia Spectrum, where we have the sequence of The Wheel > I Need A Miracle > Dear Mr. Fantasy > Hey Jude > Turn On Your Lovelight.

Be sure to stop by next week for more music from the vault.

Great releases today! Thank you!Perfect remedy for a school closure today due to a little snow in Virginia. As soon as the kids go sledding, I'll get to enjoy these gems... I think i was at the 87 msg show...caught most of them, but looking fwd most to hearing the 73 stuff...You Aint Woman Enough is easily my favorite Donna tune...did it make the E72 box? Gonna double check....anyway, thanks for the refreshments :-)

Got me thinking Grateful, so I had to check this out, not in the '72 box but was on the last DP 16. It somehow slipped past me with the last box set, until I heard it again and the wife started singing along to it, I probably need one of those deadbase books, happy listening.

I was at the Syracuse show in '73. First night of the new semester and already cutting class. Always the right choice.
